Credit points not rewarded

Hi,

I am looking at the January statement of my card, and I find that many transactions don't have points associated with them. I am aware that insurance, rent etc don't gain points, but these transactions are from groceries, sweet shops and the like. Can anyone please guess why no points were accrued for these transactions?

I hold an Infinia card and the reward rate is 5 points for every ₹150/- spent

I don't know what they are trying to do. One side for regular grocery we have vouchers from Gyftr like Bigbasket, More etc. Swiggy vouchers can be used for food ordering as well instamart. Other side they pose restriction on Grocery.

Chai Galli I went on weekend and so I should get 2x right for DCB? Same for mithai which I went for dining. I can't verify which MCC each vendor is categorised under. Overall this is very stupid move from HDFC.

Indeed it is. They're trying to play it "smartly", which is increasing frustation. Categorizing Swiggy under 'groceries' just because we can order via Instamart is a callous move. Essentially, they're capping most bought vouchers from smartbuy.

You should get 2x for DCB since it was a weekend, subject to capping. I think we probably need to ask them individually which MCC each vendor is categorized under. As I mentioned.. frustating 😪

I redeemed my points and the same were converted to equal INR abd credited to my statement. But, when I started using the card again, now, instead of the excess credit (from reward point redemption) , I am getting actual transaction values. Shouldn't it be like removed from the excess credit?

The mentioned merchants are categorized under Grocery merchants. As per revision in card's product feature with effect from January 1, 2023 , Reward points earned on grocery transaction will be capped at 2000 RP per calendar month.Hence, applicable reward points for this purchase category will be calculated on a calendar month basis and will be credited to the card within the first week of subsequent month which is February 2023. The reward points will also feature in February 2023 credit card statement.
Interestingly, they are giving RPs on grocery vouchers like BigBasket in the same statement and not waiting for this month-end calculation. Seems this applies only to offline merchants.

Interestingly no reward points for me as well.. I booked the tickets from Smartbuy portal in January. Did anyone get any response from HDFC on this? I am holding HDFC DCB.
From the snapshot, you got base reward points. Didn't you get accelerated reward points 3x for Smartbuy IRCTC? It is always shown separately in the statement towards the end. I got it in Jan and the only issue is with grocery which now will get credited in the next month.

All you guys were wondering about missing points. And now I am seeing missing transaction 😂.

Did one Smartbuy flight ticket purchase in Sunday (70% via points). And on Monday transaction vanished. Tuesday it was supposed to settle, but it is still not there. Looks like there systems got some glitch and this time for a good reason 😂.

was swiggy also mentioned under groceries?

Zudio transactions are showing as StarBazaar which would come under grocery limit. This is wrong on part of retailer, as they are trying to use low cost MCC codes of grocery.

I did not get zudio transaction reward points due to grocery limit breach, anyone know where to complain
