Custom UPI inquiry!

My query is sort of basic..

I have a joint A/C with my wife at IDFC First Bank, with me as a primary account holder. The default UPI ID for this account is my phone no@idfcfirst. I wanted to know if there is an option for a custom UPI ID, say (first 5 digits of my phone no + first 5 digits of my wife's phone no)@idfcfirst. Such ID has a better recall value. If yes, then please guide me with the process.

You can't customise UPI ID/ VPA in IDFC. There's no such feature for customisation as of now.

You may request your wife to remember your mobile no...Only 5 more digits to remember.

Wow, thanks for the insight. I was hoping for a technical solution, but your suggestion to test my wife’s memory skills instead is... certainly creative. If I ever need help with party games, I’ll be sure to ask you.

You can't customise UPI ID/ VPA in IDFC. There's no such feature for customisation as of now.

Which all banks have this feature? Any idea?

normally wives have photographic memory about everything related to their husbands, even from the days they were not yet husband and wife.

that apart, you can always link your account to a 3rd party UPI app that allows customised VPA - eg supermoney app

SBI and BOB. But its better to use UPI circle feature. Its designed for this purpose only. BHIM and PhonePe has this feature as of now, along with custom VPA.

Most of the banks. Btw, why are you using IDFC'S MB for UPI?
Use 3rd party app.

Note: Use UPI cautiously in IDFC. Kab kya ho jaye kuch ata pata nahi 🤣

Have I ever mentioned it? I know very well it takes gmail address as it's default VPA, though it's better than phone number one.
