DCB add-on card lounge issue

Recently I was in Azerbaijan airport lounge and used the add-on card of my wife for her entry and the virtual PP i created using DCB for myself and it was smooth.

The couple standing behind us also had DCB and they refused the add-on card saying that its the same card number, so only one of them could get in. I told him to do this virtual PP stuff but he was skeptical.

Anyhow, I wanted to check if anyone faced such an issue? Cos i swiped both the card with same number at delhi T3 lounge and it went through.

When you use first card and then 2nd, the terminal throws an error saying you are already in the lounge.

You will have to ask for Manager at the lounge. Explain / show to him that the names are different. which he can verify while swipping. He will also match them with boarding pass. Tell him to select "New entry" when the error shows up and the terminal will let you sign on and grant you entry.

lounges in India are knowledgeable. Also, Diners use the dreamfolks network when in India, hence you get charged 2 rupees. It does not give error of re-swipe to them. This is Priority Pass Terminal's problem.
HOWEVER, if they swipe on 2 terminals at the same time, only 1 will go through. You have to wait 30 seconds - 1 minute. (duplicate transaction swipe @ 2 terminals are flagged)

Open PP app -> On the first screen you will see 2 options
1) Activate your account
2) Join Priority pass

Click on Activate your account. Now you will get 2 options

1) Key in Membership Number
2) Payment Card Number

Choose Payment Card Number ->Key in your DCB card number
Now after filling the details- click proceed and 1 USD will be debited from your DCB card and the virtual PP will be activated instantly.
You will see unlimited visits in your home screen.

is 1 USD one time fee to activate virtual PP or everytime to visit lounge?

One last question
DCB doesn't give a physical Priority Pass card like Infinia, right? So, for access to lounges abroad, do we just swipe the DCB card or use a virtual Priority Pass (for add-on cards too)?

PS: I'm planning to upgrade to DCB Metal.

Both would work. You can either swipe the DCB card or scan the virtual PP code.
In case you don't have add-on card with you, then you can swipe DCB for 1 person and scan QR code for another.
In my case both primary and add on card has same number, so cant configure it twice. But if you are a new DCB holder, you will have separate card numbers and hence 2 virual PP can be configured.

If u swipe the DCB card, the entry for that will get automatically added to the virtual PP app as well.

DCB card is sufficient. PP not required. However if you have add on card holder with you then it's better you activate the virtual PP. I have faced issue at Yotel lounge, Paris 2E and Vietnam.

It has the card holder name. So when I configured virtual PP, I gave the name of add-on card holder after key-ing in the card number.
So I swipe my DCB card and the add-on holder shows the PP QR. That's how we have been doing it for over 2 years now.
