Does upgrading a credit card to higher variant creates a new account in credit score and closes the old account?

Hii everyone...i recently got offer to upgrade my kotak 811 (unsecure) credit card to kotak mojo credit card....kotak bank gave a unsatisfactory answer of this question....can you guys...help me with this question?

It won't close. It'll replace your current card. And the duration of your account will remain same. It won't be shown as new account.
