Flipkart EMI Order Cancelled Immediately

Hi All,
I placed an EMI order ( not no-cost) on Flipkart using my HDFC Card, I changed my mind and cancelled the order after few minutes. Even though I have got a message from flipkart saying amount's refund has been initiated, get in touch with your bank. If anyone has a prior experience, will EMI be opened in this case or flipkart will settle the transaction before its opened. Will there be any charges in this case ?

Nope nothing all the charges will be refunded.

It will be settled and all the charges will be refunded within 7 working days, depending on the bank.

I changed my mind, cancelled a few hours later and the whole amount was refunded and emi cancelled automatically.

Point to note is that, it was not converted to emi for me by the time the refund came.

Yes, you should be alright. That’s why they take about two days to convert transaction into emi

How long did it take for you to see the transaction cancelled in the card? I did the same yesterday flipkart+hdfc

The transaction along with the refunded transaction appeared 2 days later, but the order was converted to EMI, tried cancelling myself from MyCards but couldn't, called customer care, they cancelled it , I will have to pay ₹35ish, that is all.

HDFC charged roughly ₹200 on cancelled order on Amazon.

Even after order cancellation and EMI was active on HDFC App , to close the EMI I paid extra amount.
If not very next day was bill generation date and installment payment would have started.

Now I want to complain to RBI

On how HDFC charging amount on cancelled order with Amazon giving full refund

Any luck in complaing to RBI ?

If not very next day was bill generation date and installment payment would have started.

Weird, they charged u the pro-rata charges. I was unable to cancel thru mycards app, maybe due to EMI just being created the same day, so I called them and cancelled it and stating that the refund had arrived the same day of the transaction.

Not really sure about the RBI complains.
Maybe someone else could help better.

Did you contact customer care while u were cancelling the EMI or after u cancelled it. they might be able to cancel the charges.

Can you explain the dates in detail?

When you cancelled the product was the amount already converted to emi ?

Did you cancel the emi from mycard app after cancelling it from the ordered site?

You should always let the amount reflect back in the statement. The entire refund from merchant and then call the bank to cancel the emi as you recieved the refund.

What I anticipate happened in your case is that you cancelled the emi from mycard app and this led to the first interest being charged.

So a bit of clarity can help.
Your next immediate step should be to contact the bank to reverse the charges.

You can't complain to RBI without reaching out to the bank and asking for clarification

HDFC will invariably charge 1st month interest, processing fees and GST. This has happened multiple times with me. They might reverse it if you contact.

ICICI reverses everything automatically.
