General query on Creditcard applications?

Hello,
I given the previous company name as employer and provided my employee id while applying Creditcard from icicibank, and I have a doubt that if my previous company has listed in the icici bank can icici will check the employee ID number by contacting my previous company to approve the application?

Unlikely that they will check with the employer as long as your financials add up but furnishing a wrong information isn’t advisable
