Nice one. I use Uber regularly and this is quite good. However the drivers mostly refuse non cash trip and I mostly end up paying by UPI. Are you all not facing any problem with card/wallet trips?

Yes, I have faced the same issue but it's much better nowadays compared to last year! It may also be because I am usually not in a hurry when I book cab nowadays and am willing to wait for sometime.

I found ola to be cheaper as well as easier to get rides. You can buy ola gv for 10% off using ASV. You can apply this as coupon and select cash as mode of payment for the rest of the amount since unlike uber, ola gv is one time use code.

I pay using Amazon pay balance instead, using Amazon prime account.

5% cashback on Apay vouchers using SBI card.
5% cashback for having Amazon Prime account
5-35% discount for paying with Apay balance ( they have offers running every week )

So min 15% - 45% discount on each trip.

I thought you can't use amazon shopping voucher to buy gift cards. Infinia users can also use this hack.

We cannot buy all gift vouchers on Amazon using ASV, eg Swiggy money voucher (6%off) and Zomato money (9%off) are there on amazon but you cannot use ASV for this, whereas for Big basket, uber, ola you can use ASV.
So I would suggest that first just try with a small ASV whether it is applicable on desired gift card or not and then buy a bigger ASV accordingly to purchase other gift cards.

I'd advise everyone to tread with caution, I have used my BOB Eterna to purchase GVs from Redgirraffe and did not get those 5X accelerated points owing to the fact the MCC captured was 7349, although we are purchasing GVs which sounds really absurd, please do a test transaction in small amounts and check with the bank if the MCC is indeed 7349, hopefully 7349 should not attract any charges and also get counted in monthly milestone.
TLDR, if its 6513 you are in trouble

Yes, even SBI Cashback won't give the Cashback on RedGiraffe. The MCC Code is not of gift cards I think.

- 9% off Myntra (though another option is with 10x rewards otherwise on Axis Gytr with 1.5% discount)
- 4.5% off Croma (though another option is with 5x rewards on Axis gyftr but no discount)
- 4.6% off Flipkart
- 7.5% off Vistara
- 6% off Easemytrip (to use when traveledge prices are ridiculous or they do not have a specific flight/hotel)
- 3.5% off BigBasket (sometimes you get higher discount through Amazon gift vouchers)
- 14% off mcdonalds

Do remember to adjust above discount rates for the charges on making payment through CC. It brings down the effective discount on RedGirraffe. If you make payment through UPI, then no charges are applicable

Always. It's been years since I used any online payment directly via app on Uber/Ola.
