Google Wallet = American payment methods, CC heavy. All popular Android phones sold there have NFC (price point), without it, it lacks the soul here.
Google Pay = India first, UPI distribution heavy, Always in Top 3 in India, NFC independent. Not much sense to keep in USA as the above exists, thus its demise in US
So google allowed users to add credit/debit cards to google wallet and removed the option later ?
Is there a way to use full google wallet app in india by changing region in playstore ?
I really liked the interface of the google wallet app and it also allows to choose card to tap and pay rather than always paying by default card
It wasn't launched officially. Due to some technical issues, it was shown to some users, kind of variant, which is available in countries other than India.
Don't think so. Though try if it works, earlier people were downloading like this from play store or apk filea from browser.
I too wish to have atleast Cards feature in Wallet, then only it will make sense. If google has fomo of well established G-Pay app for UPI, then atleast, cards features should be available on Wallet as well. What will happen if same feature will be available on both the apps and remain on Play Store?
One (Google Wallet) can be main app and other (G-pay) can be lite version for India, like FB and FB lite.
