Got a call from ICICI Wealth RM regarding 'downgrade trigger'!

Today I got a call from my Wealth account assigned RM that he has got a 'downgrade trigger' for my account because my account is not maintaining sufficient balance i.e., I am maintaining around 10k these days... so he has apparently got a trigger to downgrade my account to 10k MAB variant one.

I said the bank must inform me in writing via email or letter first before it actually does that, but he said no it happens centrally/automatically without any notification and his call is the intimation of that.

During account opening the branch official confirmed no downgrade will happen to this account, I mentioned that. He was silent about it.

It did sound like a threat call initially before he went on about the possible ways I can use their services and products etc and ended on a polite sales pitch tone.

Today's the month end, so is he bluffing or ICICI Wealth downgrade is going to happen? What do you guys think?

😕

wm accounts are segregated into two status codes it seems
SBGEN
SBKIT
now either one this status code is receiving downgrade risk not sure which one
I think SBKIT is a direct wealth account, whereas SBGEN is an upgraded wealth account. Mine is showing SBKIT, and I haven't received any downgrade mail till now. I called the RM, and she told me they would not downgrade unless we informed them. They are also clueless about this mail.

Cibil is working.. i just tried 😁
Yep Yesterday I generated a report directly from CIBIL, no issues at all. I think these guys were pilot testing the effect of downgrading and it blew back...now they might just remove the benefits one by one....

The end is nigh brothers (& sisters).....

Side note: I called CC, and they informed me that there are no reports of such an issue. Can you guys report it so that they know people are noticing it.

I don't think there will be any further downgrades cuz people who got downgraded straight up closed their account. They have done their testing and have come up with other ways of saving money

i think the problem is with the cibil api. many times the orignial application (cibil) will work fine, but the means (api) through which these 3rd parties fetch the data has some issues.
Generated CIBIL via Gpay too. worked fine. Still I hope and wish it's an API issue. They silently imposted charges on Wealth Debit Card some time back. I would still recomment to call CC and express concerns. They might be running a pilot to see how many people raise concerns about CIBIL.

What charges? 🤔
Wealth DC used to be no frills debit card (Like other HNI accounts), now it's a basic debit card 3/5 free transaction and charges after that. Charges on Non Financial txns etc. No issuance and maintenance charges though but there are other non HNI accounts with Free debit card. You get my point though......

Even basic Debit cards have better free limits than wealth right now

If you mean ATM charges, I think that move was expected.

But consider using Cardless Cash Withdrawal once. You can take 20k per day. No charges using that.

Yeah I dont mind the charges, didn't even notice until I had to check my account balance during my sister's marriage (I forgot my phone at home). The point is to raise SRs via CC just so they know that there is a pushback, (in case it's a pilot)

Removing daily CIBIL is gonna save them a lot of money without taking a hit. Cuz none of you are gonna close your wealth AC because of that and the same can be expected for other Wealth customers. Eitherway dont forget to raise an issue.
