DCB HDFC Addon number different from Primary

Hi everyone,

I received my HDFC DCB Metal Addon today. To my surprise, it has different card no. compared to my primary.
  1. I can see the addon card while setting up card controls or changing pin in mycards app. When I changed card limit or set pin, I got a mail saying addon card no. XXXX changed. But they mention primary card no. over there in place of XXXX.
  2. I don't see addon on Netbanking, when i click on addon controls. I can add addon card separately on Netbanking tho.
  3. I also checked the OTP. The OTP came on the addon mobile number!
@Ankit Goyal also received a different card number for his addon.
  1. Does anyone know about this change from HDFC? This is a big change in their card policy.
  2. Since my Primary Card is FYF, would the addon too remain FYF?
  3. Since card nos. are different, would the spending milestones of addon be counted on Primary?
I have mailed HDFC about this. Meanwhile would be helpful if forum experts can share any info on this.

That's really a stupid move by HDFC.. Not sure who designs products without giving it a basic thought.

Hope they don't charge for this mine addon.. Else will have to write them..
 
I was able to change it from the addon holders net banking..
But my concern was that ki earlier primary card holder had the full control of transaction limits /settings of the addon.. But that's no longer there as addon holder now have control over the entire card limit.
You can set transaction limits using MyCards. I am able to do that with an add on number that is different to the primary card number
 
I can.. But later addon card holder can again modify it from their net banking.. That's the issue.. Why to give entire transaction limit change authority to just an addon holder.
Can you try doing that and let us know the outcome? Although the option shows but there is always an error at the end when I try for my add on card.
 
I applied and got add on cards for DCB for my wife, father and mother. Surprisingly, my wife's add on card number is different from primary but my mom and dads addon cards have the exact same number, CVV and expiry dates! I am now confused whether my parents will be eligible for lounge access along with me or not!

They will be eligible, as same number addons have been in place from many years. But the strange thing is one addon as different number, and the two have same. Call customer support and reapply for addons. You can close their card on netbanking and apply yourself. If you have any travel coming up, do it later on.

I have an international travel coming up in 3 weeks and I specifically applied for add on to provide lounge experience to my parents. How to reapply for add ons? I tried to block them from mycards website and it is only showing option to block primary card!

Call customer care and ask to close add on cards which have same number as primary. Once add ons are closed, apply fresh from NetBanking. You should get new cards within 3-4 working days.

Thanks. I closed the Add on cards for my parents and the customer care agent who originally tried to assist me called me again saying he followed my case with an update that he had emailed the DCB product manager and they found the root cause of the issue due to me holding an older variant of DCB and now there is a new DCB with a different logo and if I provide consent for changing the logo then he will process the same. He also said I have to fill out physical forms to chennai address but before that I have to send an email saying I provide consent to change logo from HDFC card variant 967 to 968. I asked what those numbers mean and he said those are internal codes he can't reveal. I am confused about this. I don't want to consent to something I don't fully understand. Does anyone know what those codes mean?

Do you have DCB PVC? Is it LTF? If yes, confirm with them that your card pricing will remain LTF after the change. Get that in writing on Email. Also check with him whether he is talking about DCB Metal.

Yes I have DCB PVC and got it LTF through alumni offer. Sure I will check with him if it's metal and whether it will continue to be LTF, if not I will decline. Thanks for the tips!
