HDFC Credit Cards HDFC BizBlack: The Silent King

Most rewarding card if you pay shit loads in taxes : "HDFC Bizblack"

- 0 fee if you spend 7.5L
- 4x 5k Taj/Smartbuy vouchers on every 5L milestone reached till 20L. Ez 20k
- 7500 accelerated points/mo on business/tax/gst spends + 7500 points on GVs (16.6% reward ratio) (1:1 on hotels/flights)
that translates to 90k to 180k in accelerated rewards/annum.
- Unlimited domestic + int'l lounge access ( just carrying a single card, comprehensive dinersclub lounge network)
- 3.33% base rewards (upto 1.5L points/mo)= 60k+ points if you spend 20L+
- ~200k /annum

Although i use Infinia for GVs/Apple Purchases etc . but BizBlack Alone is the one card that beats every single card out there if you are a business owner/professional.

True, that's why I keep this card.
If you think the base reward rate is 4.44% since there are no quarterly spend restrictions on the bonus points, then the chances of hitting the milestone are very high in comparison to DCBM.
I use this card with DCBM and TB. it's the perfect trio for someone who is not eligible for INFINIA and EPM.

for bizblack to get accelerated rewards on essential business spend .. do we need to overall spend 50,000 in statement cycle ( including business + non-essential business) or essential business category we need to spend > 50k

Do keep in mind that Diners Club BizBlack Metal is only a couple of years old. It has never been devalued. HDFC will obviously be keeping an eye and if it sees that it is bleeding money, they'll do what needs to be done.

If you went extreme and paid exactly Rs 56,250 in GST/IT payments every month, you would get 7500 Bonus + 1875 regular RPs.
So, annually, on GST/IT payments of Rs 6,75,000 you are getting 1,12,500 RPs going by the 16.67% ratio. Plus a Rs 5000 voucher for spends of Rs 5L. Even if you include the credit card surcharge of ~1%, pay the annual fees of Rs 10k and the fact that SmartBuy redemption will make your RPs worth somewhat less than 1:1, it is still a great deal for the customer and a questionable deal for the bank.

Even the famed Infinia went through one round of so-called "brutal" devaluation before it got to where it is now.

I have a dcb plastic LTF and for a month now I'm thinking to upgrade my Dcb plastic for Infinia and try for DCB biz black add on if they do (my brother has) but confused if it will make sense.

The key difference between a DCB and Infinia are the 3X v/s 5X RPs on Gyftr vouchers and 2:1 v/s 1:1 redemption for Apple products in Infinia's favour. There's some acceptance issues with DCB too though not as wide / severe as some TF members claim.

That said, DCB has 2X RPs on weekend dining against Infinia's 1X and Rs 1000 vouchers (BMS, Uber, TataCliq) on monthly milestone spends of Rs 80k.
Plus your DCB is LTF which is a big plus.

If you brother has BizBlack then take an addon. You will get it with a different card number and you'll get OTPs on your mobile.
Too many people go blindly after Infinia even when DCB is a better fit for them.

Is my understand correct for BizBlack accelerated rewards capping :

Rule #1 : Max 7,500 accelerated rewards on business essential spend per statement cycle if statement overall spend is above 50k
Rule#2 : Max 10,000 accelerated rewards on smartbuy per calendar month ..

Very well said, because I too sometimes think of keeping my Diners black LTF pvc card. And 3 months back I did not accept Infinia upgrade. But after the new criteria for super premium cards of hdfc and EPM, sometimes I wonder I should take the upgrade before it's too late??

Are you buying substantial Gyftr vouchers via your DCB OR running into SmartBuy monthly caps OR are into the Apple ecosystem big time OR are confident of having 12.5L spends per annum going forward? If yes, then look into the "upgrade"; otherwise it is a "downgrade".

Exactly, but will Continue with DCB plastic as it gives club marriott membership on reaching 8L and also no need to carry extra PP. Spend is not a problem until now, but next year not sure as now EPM and DCB are competing in my wallet. 😉😉😉
