HDFC CC not offering Upgrade or Limit Enhancement

Guy from the branch had the verification process restarted and today someone came to my office and re-did the verification. Let's see what happens.

Guy from the branch who helped with the process is still saying, he'll look into this and get the card approved. I have no hopes.

My best option now isto go through the escalation matrix and reach PNO right?

Sad bro Sad, I doubt if escalation to PNO will work, at the end of the day it's upto bank to provide a card or not. One thing I wanted to highlight is why would you go with an ICICI card for C2C basis that too the APay? HDFC hates ICICI cards and on top of it they are abhorred by APAY, should have checked already existing threads on C2C basis and not to go via Apay, anyways it's heart wrenching to see such a high net worth salary account denied a Mid Level Card. I genuinely want someone to give HDFC a bitter reality check.

APAY ICICI is the only card with >5L limit for me right now, recently Axis FK increased my limit from 2L to 4.45L, this happened after I applied and is still less than 5L.
 
But even with Apay > 5L limit HDFC don't give any decent card that's why I was saying.

I am just starting a similar process shortly- APAY + Plat (5L).
HDFC C2C 5L via Branch: LTF offered Regalia Gold, Diner Club Privilege, Millenia. Pros/ Cons? Others?

Have emailed Burgundy support to match my Magnus to 5L or more. Do chime in, on the thread given you've done some comparatives?

Long story short
  • If you wanna be in the points/miles game and eventually want to move up the ladder and finally get Infinia, then Reg Gold
  • If you want straight Cashback, then get Millennia
  • If you want RuPay then go for Tata Neu Infinity plus
Pro tip: If you want both, non-co-branded and co-branded cards, first get the direct HDFC card (Reg Gold/Millennia) and then apply for the Tata Neu Card.

This is in continuation to our interim response dated November 02, 2023 regarding HDFC Bank credit card application # XXXXXXXXXXXXX.

On receipt of your concerns, we have ascertained that your credit card application for Regalia Gold had been reviewed as per internally laid down policy guidelines of the Bank.

The said application, however did not meet the eligibility criteria which is combination of financial / related criteria and operating /credit processes (which includes verifications, credit bureau reports and document verifications). Hence credit facility was not offered to you and we reiterate that our inability to approve your Regalia Gold credit card application does not in anyway reflect on your credit standing and your financial stability. We request you not to let this incident deter your patronage to other HDFC Bank products.

Having explaned the above, we can review for any base variant card as per eligibility criteria and you may revert to us with your consent (if interested) along with the signed MID (Most importan Document) for downgraded card type, so that we can review further as an exception. We seek your earnest understanding on the same.

I've been in a similar situation. Here's what I did.

1. Changed my account into preferred, then got behind the BM to get me an upgraded card.
2. Wrote to hdfc chennai with salary docs, to up my limit. This unlocked tata neu infinity and DCB for me

I think money-back is their Flagged card. It seems like Whoever gets it, never gets anything better 🤣🤣🤣
Not exactly true, I used Money back for few years with limit 78k and LE ~150k. Then I applied for Millenia directly from the website, but got regected.
On call will RM got it upgraded to Millenia with reduces Limit to 100K. and now stuck with 1.45 limit.
Monthly spending was about 30- 40k, now planning to just use Netflix for this till they offer something.
