HDFC Digisave Youth Account Blocked Due to EDD — Branch Not Helping

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with my HDFC Digisave Youth Account, which got blocked on 6th November. I was told to visit the branch to get it resolved.

When I visited the branch today, they informed me that EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) is required and asked for 2 years’ ITR and a letter explaining the source of funds.

I explained to them that I’m a student and mainly use the account for Amazon Pay wallet transactions (around ₹40,000 per month) to earn 1% cashback. However, they still insisted on the documents and said they can’t close the account unless the EDD is cleared.

The branch staff were not helpful and didn’t provide any alternative solution or escalation contact.

I’m stuck now — can’t operate the account or even close it. Has anyone faced something similar or know what I can do next? Any advice from the Technofino community would be really appreciated.

bro give a written complain to the branch manager with your 1 month transacation deatail with explanation of every trasacation
attachh itr copy of father
student id also
take receving (for proof )
complain to pno also use bm name ,
wait for few day and complain to rbi obmudsman

there is nothing wrong in millinia 400rs per month offer
also do not do much transction (30 transaction per month is enough)
rotation is also not an issue
until every thing you do is legal
dont involve in and batting app releated things also crypto even that ligit with this account
sebi registered stock market things is fine

there is nothing like exploting here
if it was develation is thing what banks do

its your money
dont be afraid of anything
be confidenet in front of branch manger
also no one can take your money
no need to close account contine using millinia 400rs per month offer
try using amazon wallet of your own
dont use money immidiatly as soon as it comes to your account from father sister (try using net banking ,neft ) as banking system trigger it as money mule , even if it triggered dont worry thats banking meching learning ...error

for future loots use offline kyced bank account preferbly

if they dont solve it within 30 days just enjoy and ask for compentation

I wanted to share an update on my situation.

I received a call from the branch on 12th November, where they discussed my account transactions. This time, the staff were very cooperative and calm, and clearly explained everything to me.

I also told them about the Amazon Pay wallet transactions I was doing and clarified that all my major spends, such as college fees and other high-value transactions (like when I purchased a scooty in October), have proper receipts.

The officer advised me to file ITR for one year and write an application explaining everything, and then submit both to the branch so they can proceed with the unblocking process.

Today, two executives visited my home for verification. I also called the same person who had spoken to me on 12th November and asked if this verification was supposed to happen after I submit my ITR and application. He said that home verification had to be done anyway, so they completed it, and I can visit the branch after 17th November, as the branch manager is currently on leave.

My friend, who is a CA, has already filed my ITR, and I’m just waiting for it to be processed. Once I get it, I’ll go to the branch and meet the branch manager to complete the process.

Thank you bro for your detailed guidance — I truly appreciate it. I would also like to clarify that I had opened this account offline at the branch, and I have never used it for any crypto, betting, or any such activities.

Yes, my transactions were on the higher side because I regularly used this account for daily UPI payments and personal expenses, so that’s why the count was more. But all the transactions were completely genuine and for normal personal use only.

And yes, if my issue is still not resolved, then I will surely follow the actions you advised and escalate it further as needed.

ITR is not mandatory but good to know there is some progress.
This thread will provide guidance to other members in case the account is blocked.
 
Yup the profile was set to student with no income, And high value transactions in account so it didn't matched. transactions might have spiked suddenly. What were the average transaction values in last couple months before the freeze?

Approximately ₹40,000 spent per month, including UPI transactions and credit card bill payments, excluding wallet-reload offer.
 
No, I have only a single HDFC account — I was referring to my Kotak 811 account.
The only solution is visit the nearest branch explain them the issue and most important tell them the source of funds and also offer them In future I will help you in terms of account sourcing or open account. Why I am saying this... Because this is only way, prefer to go to pba rather than bm... Mai khud employee reh chuka hu aur ye saara kaam pba dekhta hai aur vahi approval lega from backend. For which vo kuch favour chahega jaise kuch business

2 months ago, HDFC branch staff told me not to do more UPI transactions on their digiyouth account, as it's getting blocked due to lots of cyber crimes, so I haven't even activated UPI on that account and I only do 2-3 debit card transactions in a month on this account. That's it.

Also write a mail to grievance.redressaldl@hdfcbank.com if u still haven't by explaining the whole situation. Branch staff usually try to close the grievance ticket on a priority basis.
