HDFC Millennia DC: Smartbuy 5% + 5% + 2.5%

Edit: The extra 2.5% on Sbuy not coming these days as confirmed by many. SO now it is 5% + 5% but Millennia CC still has 5%+1%..

This post is regarding earning 12.5% on Smartbuy using HDFC Millenia. There is nothing new in this but many of us are missing higher CB on low spend.

We all know that Millennia DC has max. cap of Rs.400 as 5% cashback so we mostly use it for 16000 CC Payment or some use it for wallet load of 40K.

The thing I analyzed today was, my friend in Dec- 2023 used his Millennia DC on smartbuy for Rs.5000 for flipkart voucher only and nowhere else. When I checked his rewards, it were 5% smartbuy cashback offer (upto Rs.1000/month) for HDFC cards i.e Rs.250 were credited in April 2024, 5% Millennia DC specific for txn on Smartbuy/Payzapp i.e as per TnC and also 2.5% as online usage. Total 375 was credited to him. Max. is 400.

With Millennia CC it was confirmed since years that smartbuy txns were giving 5% cashback + 1% online spend so total 6% but same is with Millennia DC also.

So next time when you buy A gift card from smartbuy worth Rs. 5340 will fetch you- Rs.267+133.50 = Rs. 400 (50 paisa 😆 will not be given as 400 is max limit). The smartbuy cashback of 5340*5/100= 267 will be extra and come under 1000 cashback category.

Main point missed was the 5% debit card specific cashback and 2.5% online and 1% offline/wallet load, all have a cumulative limit of max. 400. So most of us missed this thing as were spending more than 8000-16000 every month.

Well, lately, people have not been receiving the additional 5% (Millennia SB CB) of the 400, and to get that part, you have to fight with HDFC. Some are still receiving it, so if everything goes correctly, you will get 533 + 400, otherwise, most likely you will get 533 + 133 (2.5% of 5334).

Smartbuy calculator only mentions 10% and it is right because with Millennia you get 5% Millennia Specific and 5% from Smartbuy. This 2.5% is also a feature cashback of Millennia when you transact online. Ask youself, isn't txn done on smartbuy is online or not? Yes it is online. That's why we called it 5%+5%+2.5% online.

Smartbut portal isn't showing 10%+5%. It shows 5% + 5% only.

Millennia has 400 maximum limit out of 5% it gives as its own benefit. So the 5%+2.5% has cumulative limit of 400 while smartbuy 5% has 1000 per month limit. Total Max. = 1400.

Either understand this or wait for me to confirm in May because I did txn in Feb only to check the extra 2.5%. 5%+5% is guaranteed.

You won't have to mail for anything. 10%+5% will come itself. You are still not understanding the extra 2.5% game here. Just do Rs.10000 txn and you will get 1400 (1000+400) to max out or 8000 (800+400) and you will get 1200 and live peacefully.

Want to take risk? Then do 5400 Txn. 540+270 is guanateed. Extra 130 may or may not come. Mailing for extra 2.5% won't help. Also you will have to visit Pharmeasy via smartbuy portal not directly for txn to track.

can you clarify one thing for me, in this atteched pic you can see for rs1000 valued AG card I have to pay rs1029.5 and cb is rs30.89 amd it's like 0.14% profit so how can I get that 5% cashback using millennia dc (exclude cashback of that 400 point)
