HDFC Reporting to CIBIL Every WEEK!

shrewdoc

TF Legend
I have noticed for the last 20-25 days, HDFC has been reporting to CIBIL every week starting from:

23 Nov → 30 Nov → 7 Dec

Previously HDFC used to report ONCE on month-end ie. on 30/31 of every month.

This is even faster and earlier than the RBI new guidelines of biweekly reporting w.e.f. 1 Jan, 2025:

My CIBIL is going all over the place ±10-12 points because of this as it deducts 10 points for any amount due in credit cards compared to Max Score when all dues are cleared.

So now, prepaying won't help much. It would be interesting to see if other banks follow suit, and it's implications on our credit score. I guess, CIBIL scoring mechanism would be needing a few tweaks now if this trend continues.

Is it the same for everyone? What are your thoughts on this?

Today itself I used hdfc Swiggy for 20k only, my question is will they report it's transaction on 30th dec or some other date? I have exhausted all my DC limits to clear bills & get some cb/rps to use this month but if they will be reporting on 30th then I will clear it today only. Can anyone advise on this?
HDFC is reporting its balances weekly once for many users.. for some users may be once a fortnight / monthly. come Jan1 everyone's will be reported weekly once, in my view.

as far as your question is concerned , your balances will be reported as on Dec 31st..

what was your last reporting date?

Weekly for me as well. It wasn't earlier. Probably for everyone it will be weekly.

Thanks then I will clear my Swiggy cc bill by today only to avoid reporting, can you also confirm if you know any info of reporting for federal & sbi ? Old thread says bill generation date.

I am not sure where to check reporting, I don't have cibil account, any other way?

I will inform about SBI cards later in a few weeks time. I dont have Fed cards .. some other members will update abotu that..

all these cards reporting dates will be discussed here in the below thread..

There are some more CCs such as federal & sbi & icici I used around 20% of overall usage but I think we are safe here for these cc unlike hdfc, advice on this too if anyone aware of reporting, Thanks
every bank will report outstanding balances at least once fortnightly from Jan 1 2025..
follow this thread for info in future..

Sorry on gpay where we can see exact date? I can see only month under "credit usage" I can see december for hdfc & sbi in gpay (last updated by bureau)
sorry, it may not have the reprting dates.. I was just talking about CIBIL report in general..
I dont use any of those apps for my CIBIL report as I have official CIBIL subscription..

No problem, let see if we will get clear picture in few weeks & from other members input. Thanks for this useful thread, I am glad it got noticed on correct time.

Wow what a timing for RBI to start this specially when my usage from 0.3% increased to almost 20% this month on overall usage. Ofcourse there is some reason of (₹₹₹) so I had to use it & I know cibil score may hit with some +- points, my current cibil is 802, What I am doing is making payments as same as @SSV in 1-2 days but only difference is I was considering bill generation date as well like which is most important. As of now only HDFC has implemented weekly reporting. None others out of the following.
For me,
SBI - Same as it was (reporting date 26 Dec for billing date 3rd)
Axis - Same as it was (30th Nov - Month End, sometime they report on billing date also)
Onecard - Same (on billing date, sometime skip reporting)
ICICI - Same (on billing date, earlier they used to report once in two months but now every month)
AU - Same (last date of the month)

beacuse the rule starts from Jan 1.. only HDFC reacted pro-actively..
by Jan30, we will know all the Banks frequencies.. I expect 90% of the banks to follow fortnightly reporting atleast initially.. may be after sometime more may opt for weekly..
