I have Regalia LTF & TNI LTF with 6.7L shared limit. I’ve spent 7L+ in last 6 months on my TNI !!

Now, can I request for upgrade of Regalia LTF to DCB LTF ???

Well I had 8l fd already in hdfc, still wasn't able to get infinia with that way.

They would not entertain this and will say that they need to quote the policy/application no in the approval email.
Worst case scenario is, you get 30 days feelook period and you can cancel the policy with a loss of few thousands - they deduct some charges which are clearly mentioned and standard practice.

They will, desperation does . Application number of ULIP not required to process an infinia. Negotiate hard, they will fall for it . Ideally wouldn’t suggest this but RMs who practice this sometimes need taste of their own medicine.

how to do this?

1) ask them to increase limit through FD route
2) once limit increase is done, ask for upgrade
3) if they don't give upgrade, remove the lien.

If upgrade given, you can't remove FD. If you want to remove lien in future, you'll have to downgrade the card.

U have to tell them I want a CL increase by FD lien, and then mail greveiance / PNO. RMs don't want to give out this info otherwise who will take ULIPs?

One thing I can certainly say, for Infinia upgrade 7.5L spend is not mandatory.
Background: Back when Covid hit HDFC were offering DCB and Infinia LTF. I was offered DCB upgrade from my Regalia which I refused and asked for Infinia, which they refused (I regret this)
Fast forward to 2022, I requested for Infinia, to which I received the boilerplate reply , need income of 3L+ and its invite only.
After the pathetic condition of Regalia, I reduced my spending in the card to 1.7k per month. I asked my RM for Infinia, she said not possible. From then, whenever she called I would request for Infinia
In mid 2023, she suddenly said let's see what I can do. I got a call next day from someone in Mumbai CC division who asked me to send a signed copy of upgrade form. And lo and behold, after 2 days of sending the form I got my Infinia delivered FYF.
I don't have spend of 7L across all my CCs, leave alone only on HDFC. Nor my salary is anywhere near 3L per month. Yet somehow my RM managed to get the approval.

This is very true bhai. Recently I got upgrade of LTF regalia gold. I didn't had spending criteria fulfilled. In fact I spent only 1000 rupees in last 6 months. My cc limit was around 3.3 lacs. So yes this is just a barrier to stop flood of requests for upgrades or lifetime free offer.

9L was quoted to me by an agent from credit card team. He seemed reliable and was sure that he'll get me Infinia (no strings attached). But meanwhile pno upgraded it.
9L for infinia was also confirmed by another member in some thread. That person mentioned 5L for DCB

It was 5L spend for me for DCB in 2023 Oct and for Infinia it was 7.5L in 2024 Sep.

Infinia is 10 or 12 L spends..
