HDFC started downgrading accounts?

Hello Everyone,

I had opened a salary account after taking advice from forum. So got a 0 balance account salary account, I asked them to upgrade account to get better CC offers.

They had upgraded my account to Imperia. Recently I received mails for maintaining balance in my account.




Seems like they have also started actively downgrading accounts.

Any suggestions how can stop the downgrade? Or is it worth trying for Imperia status?

Today. When I login to mobile banking it shows account variant as standard.

Sometimes it is a temporary technical glitch.

Something big is coming on 13th July as far as HDFC Banking IT infrastracture is concerned..
Hopefully it goes smooth and we get bigger and better preformance..
It is scheduled for ~13 hours during a second saturday 3 am to 4.30 PM ..

They did not say any outage specifically , they said there will be some temporary halt in some functionality..
So, act accordingly .. dont plan any important banking activity during this time..

That’s not a downgrade, it happens for some time. It will be back.

During system updates, it shows like that. Today they are doing some major update. It will be restored to Imperia tomorrow.

Yes, both ICICI and HDFC are doing this silent downgrade. If you have opened a normal salary account, but later got it upgraded to a higher variant (wealth/select/preferred/imperia kind of those fancy names of priority accounts), they will check MAB, TRV etc and then silently downgrade if you are not meeting the conditions for that variant.
Earlier they used to ignore it, but looks like recently they are not allowing salary-0-balance account holders to stay in the higher variants and enjoy the previleges without actually meeting the requirements.
