Home theater or sound bars

In that price range, maybe go for a dual channel, or 2.1 channel Home theatre system, a sound bar may not give that much depth (specially in the bases). But honestly, I don't know any specific company/product to recommend.

I don't know about sound bars ...
Which would be best home theater or soundbar in terms of sound and bass ?
In my opinion, we need a subwoofer for a good experience. There are a few sound bars which come with a subwoofer, but they are a bit expensive.
Also, another downside of soundbar is no flexibility. in a HT, you can position the speakers according to your needs and room requirements, which gives a better overall effect.
About brands in that price point, I think maybe look for Zebronics or Philips.
I personally prefer Boat for that range, but I am not sure if they have any product. I remember they used to have like a few years ago, but they discontinued I guess.

My room is small and I have 4ft dedicated shelf to keep speakers .
I just wanted to know whether soundbar will be suitable or speakers in terms of sound quality.
Advisable to have speakers rather than soundbar. I usually opt for philips.
