How to Increase credit score

Am using the credit card for almost 12 years, using 30% max limit no payment default and failure, but my score is 789 just and its increasing at snails pace found one of my friend whose score i saw was 870 asked him but he could not explain how this is so high any suggestion from any body?

789 is very good score,no need to panic. 870 is unreal. could be experienced.
 
Score above 750 is considered very good. I too have 15+ yrs of credit history but have very rarely crossed 800. It hovers b/w 780-800. I have stopped tracking now. Till the time you are using your credit limit correctly and not defaulting; dont worry too much on it.

I have 6 year of credit history and 8 credit card and 1 home loan. 801 score was my highest. So above 750 is good score. Currently it is 785.
 
Nothing special with cibil above 800 homeloan providers giving subsidy interest rate for 800>
And for me 796 as of October from yes bank free report I have 10cc recently closed home loan prepaid
Car loan 2 yrs back paid as emi for full tenor

If you can see the high and medium impact items those are the most contributing factor for the credit score. You can plan accordingly.
