How to use Amex MRCC card with HP pay app?!

Hi, I have a doubt as to how to use Amex MRCC card for fuel purchase at HP pumps to gain maximum advantage?!
As a novice who just got the card I don't know how to go about it.
Use card directly or through HP pay app?!
As I usually use Samsung pay to tap with all my other cards, amex is not approved in Samsung wallet, is there any way to tokenize the card for use with NFC?!

Fuel payments on ICICI fastag have been disabled by default for all. You need to activate it by raising a ticket either on call or by email.

IDFC fastag also works....

You can pay without HP Pay also... tell the attendant that you want to pay via OTP... on the machine, you can choose, ICICI or IDFC fastag.... enter mobile number, last 4 digits of vehicle... you will get OTP... enter OTP on machine and payment goes through from fastag balance

can this be done for ICICI fastags as well? HPPay app is very unreliable, lots of issues. Sometimes it would show the fasttag balance as 0 even though there is balance, the OTP doesn't arrive on time (even though fuel transactions are enabled), the app just doesn't even go to the homepage. etc.

Yes it works for both ICICI and IDFC fastags

Yes. But practically rates are failure are higher with pos as it has only 90s transaction timing, transaction fails if OTP doesn't arrive within then.

HP pay app doesn't have such a short transaction timer. Completely agree that it's unreliable

I've also noticed differences between pumps. Got OTP easily at certain pumps and very delayed at particular pumps. Do try out a different one

Yes, IDFC supports direct payment in POS machine, not via HP pay app. HP Pay gives additional Happy coins which can be used buying vouchers from gyftr. Just additional benefit (aprox 1% value back).

I can't link my IDFC Fastag in HP Pay app. It says already linked but shows zero balance and don't allow to remove or modify also.
Do you guys face similar problem? Can I still pay through POS machine directly using IDFC Fastag using Apay trick?

First the fastag needs to be activated by the bank for fuel payments.
And the process takes few days.

I called then and they guided me to activate it through IDFC Forward app and it got activated successfully but still the issue isn't resloved.
I guess @smuff is right that we can't use hp pay app for IDFC Fastag, we need to go through POS option only.

PoS option works best. Doing it via HP pay is hit or a miss.

I have been doing fuel payments via direct PoS only using fastag and it is working well

Thanks for this info. The log out and log in worked for me. Now I can see fastag balance on the linked ICICI tag.
Dont know why ICICI was not informing this.

Yes only icici fastag works with hp pay. If you can get amazon icici fastag it is even better. You can get 1% cashback in amazon for paying toll. Check details in amazon app.

After seeing the fastag balance on HP pay app, I tried transaction on Fastag.

First attempt of Rs 1000 fuel - After scanning QR code, the HP Pay app didnt show option of payment via Fastag. And the staff at the station was showing ignorance about the process on Drive Track Plus machines. So made payment via another method.

Went to another HP pump for 2nd attempt - Again after scanning QR code, the HP Pay app didnt show option of payment via Fastag. Asked for the transaction via OTP on machine. They agreed. And the process was smooth. Had to enter mobile number and last 4 digits of car number. OTP came super fast. Did transaction of Rs 1000. And the amount deducted from fastag was Rs 996.80

Hope that QR code scanning version starts soon. That would make it more convenient.

Have you added your fastag under my vehicle tab in HP pay app.

Once you've added, you can use fastag while scanning QR

Yes. fastag is added under My Vehicle. Thats where I could see balance available in fastag.
Will try again next time at the HP fuel station.

Yes it is. The payment option for fastag is green.
