HSBC Live+ Credit Card Review | HSBC Cashback Credit Card Rebranded

Editor’s note: This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers. Last Updated 15th July, 2024.
HSBC revamped their Cashback Credit Card back in December 2023, and I would say it stood out as an exception in a season of brutal devaluations. Since earning points for travel is becoming increasingly difficult, many people are shifting to cashback credit cards to enhance their value back. Now, in July 2024, they have just rebranded their Cashback Credit Card as the Live+ Credit Card with a fresh design. In terms of benefits, nothing has actually changed.

Here's a quick review of this great credit card from HSBC Bank!

HSBC Bank is currently only offering their credit cards to salaried individuals that too very strictly. If you are a self-employed individual then you may try your luck by opening a premium bank account against a huge NRV.

TechnoFino Recommends

After the revaluation of the HSBC Cashback Credit Card back in December 2023, it became one of the best cashback cards for offline and online dining and grocery spends. The recent rebranding is just a name change to the Live+ Credit Card, but nothing has changed in terms of benefits. This is a simple, no-nonsense cashback card from HSBC Bank that caters to both groceries and dining at a flat 10% rate, which I would say is unprecedented. Earlier, Kotak was offering similar cashback on their Essentia and Delight Credit Cards with some conditions, but these have now been discontinued.

If you are looking for a great multi-utility card for all your grocery and dining spending then this card should be there in your wallet! Not to worry about the fees since in festive time reaching that upper cap on 10% cashback even for just one time will make your card free virtually for the year. This card is in direct competition with the HDFC Swiggy card now.

I had the HSBC Platinum LTF and asked them to flip this to the Cashback card. Have 2 statements now on this cashback card and I haven't been charged a joining fee. I was told I will not be getting any vouchers, which are for new card issuances only not card flips
I'm in the same boat now.
Flipped my Visa Platinum to HSBC Visa Cashback.
Flip request is successfully done.
I'll update if I'm charged JF or not.
Tag me if your status changes, in case you are charged in next statement.

Thats great !!
Thankyou for clarifying this !!

I logged in now and saw no card is showing. Is it the case Visa Platinum disappears and when Visa Cashback will show?

dont remember when will it show in app bro. may be after card delivery and activating card

Add-on card benefits:
1) Add on card will also get the Rs 1000 amazon voucher on spending >10K within first 30 days
2) Lounge access benefit is extended to the add-on cardholder and is not shared with the primary holder
3) 10% cashback on groceries and dining is available on the add-on card and separately capped for each add-on card.

It basically means that even on the add-on card we can get max 1k cashback with 10K spend on groceries. So in total it would be 1K + 1K for primary and add-on card for grocery spends
Have you personally verified this btw?

Strange that the customer care personnel instead said that the 10% cashback is per account basis and hence cashback is given on the combined total of purchases from the primary and all the add-on cards.

How do we flip?

My HSBC cashback card application got approved. At the time of application I had applied for an add-on card in the name of my wife. How to know whether the add-on card got approved or not.Does the add-on card also dispatched along with primary card?

What was the interval between the vkyc and the approval? And how do you get the approval message - via sms or email?

What info/docs did you have to submit for the add-on in the application?

Vkyc done on 29 Apr, after 4 days one rep called me to give latest salary slip, as I gave oct 23 salary slip, mailed as per her instruction. Then no response..last week may be 8 or 9, I called their cc and enquired about my application and they told it has been declined.

Yesterday I got a sms informing about generating the pin for the card once received. Today early morning SMS from bluedart with waybill number received.

I think the less we bother about this card after applying, the more will be chance for approval.

For add-on card ,have to give pan card number of relative and choose the relationship

I completed my vkyc on May 3rd and then got no status update up until May 10 when I got a call saying the employer name differs in the salary slip and the application form and requested an explicit consent email from my side to use the name as per the salary slip.
And again no updates after that..

By the way, I assume you pbly had applied earlier as well which had got declined due to which the CC mentioned it as declined.
Happened with me as well, but on asking him to check by matching the application ref num that I had with me from the latest application, he mentioned that it wasn't visible to them, and that only older declined applications were showing up for him.
I guess, you should've asked them by explicitly providing them the app ref num, but nvm, as you already got the card.
