Hotel Points I am confused !!! why so much hype about Marriott points when you can not book higher quality rooms

ok..of course we are getting benefit but the benefits are not customizable...that is the problem...anyway, we should be grateful for the parks we are getting through our credit card.....expecting too much is not healthy...
Recently We celebrate my daughters birthday in Novotel...the normal expenditure would be Rs. 14400 but I paid around Rs. 6200 along with free decorated birthday cake using my easydiner card...I think that's what matter in the end of day...
Whether accor or Marriott both cases, we are getting benefit and winning only....

Absolutely, man!
At the end of the day, fulfilling your requirements is what matters most. Credit cards are meant to provide extra savings while you spend. Overthinking about overutilizing or trying to get everything for free isn’t healthy—I completely agree with that.

1) What is the hype about the Amex and Marriott when You can not have good Luxury experiences using their points....They are basically treating you as a 3rd class citizen and dumping on you their garbage quality (as per their standard) room to us all valued amex or Marriott point holder
2) What I will do the points? will stay in their designated room for the standard peoples?
3) Who is his right mind will even buy these points by cash where he can use the same cash to have a better experience by booking directly by cash

I am feeling really bad about the attitude of Marriott towards the credit card and Marriott point holders

Some hotels allow you to book higher-category rooms (not always, but it does occasionally show up). Some hotels also offer free breakfast (even without any status).
 
1. I would have never stayed in marriot with my own money, especially outside India
2. We get insane high per point value some times with marriot points to rupees conversion

1st point is main for me

hahaha these noob youtuber and Instagram ppl put anything xD one day anushka rathod put up a post xD with wrong info lol 😆 i commented and after few hrs saw the post was down 😛 she was talking about idfc wow with 200rs fees 😆 where as it is ltf cc xD

I was one of them who never payed extra for upgraded rooms before getting into credit card redemptions. So never saw getting a lower category room as a problem. Also I never felt Marriott treating us as 3rd class citizens or providing garbage quality service. I have redeemed points for at least 20 rooms in last 3 years. I have got upgraded and breakfast free every time I redeemed.

This redemption was in two phases. One before getting higher elite status and one after getting elite status. As mentioned earlier, got upgrades both times and was treated equally well. Only difference was that the manger comes to welcome us after getting the status. I rather not have that welcome anyways.

Upgrades are easy to get when you have multiple rooms booked. They upgrade and give connecting rooms with one of the rooms being extremely good and other normal. Also I generally book for stays during weekdays and off-peak seasons

Also, these programs are deigned as loyalty programs. So if you stay for lot of nights they provide status and you can get more upgrades easily. They offer lounges and other benefits.
Ofcourse Accor ALL program is deigned lot better in my view.

Thanks a lot for your view...this is really encouraging to know that your aim is fulfilled and you are satisfied with Marriott..
 
If Marriott is not good option then TAJ vouchers can be taken, only problem is conversion ratio which is almost half but no restriction in choosing any category of room of any Taj property.
