ICICI AST YES for completing vkyc

I had applied for Icici platinum chip card through their website, today i got call from +912268974800, he said vkyc is not complete send message as AST YES and he asked pan details and address and all...
Has anyone experienced the same??
I called customer care but they said they don't know if that number is from Icici or not, and said to visit branch for confirmation.

Dear Customer, we need consent to use your details for a Credit Bureau check on your ICICI Bank Credit Card application. To provide consent, SMS AST YES to 9222208888/9215676766. T&C apply.

I received this from the same number I receive transaction messages of ICICI. The agent called me after I applied, and confirmed all my details. Then sent this message and asked to provide the consent. I got VKYC link after this on same day. And after that on 18th April, the card got approved.

Come to think of it SBI has similar kind of system, so its possible that its legit too.

I believe it's done after this consent but not sure.

Yes in my cibil report it's showing 8th May..

So I just checked it's showing 13th April for me and that too for personal loan! 🤷‍♂️
I applied on 13th and got this message and call on same day. So, can't say for sure if that enquiry was made during the application process or after the consent message.

For me also it's showing personal loan for value 1,50,000🙄

Same happened with me when I applied for platinum chip card via their website.

Got a call from number mentioned by op.

Sent concent sms and did videokyc. I already have apay and hpcl card to I asked vkyc agent why is he having kyc again. He said it's mandatory.

Then I too got a cibil enquiry for 1.5L as personal loan !!

It was done on April 26th, still nothing from them. So I sent an email & got a callback, they created a service request to investigate.

Whenever I called customer support they said they don't have a record of my application number, once my application is processed then only they will get my application number. They told me to use the application status menu in the IVR to check status. I tried that menu 3 times and got a callback 3 times, they didn't know my application status, they called to sell me MMT signature credit card all 3 times.

U can take it as it's lifetime free as well , just some joining fee.

BTW when I applied through website for platinum card i got a different app. No. Than what I received after vkyc.
Earlier one i can track , but the later one shows as invalid

I got LTF MMT signature yesterday (for my mom ... Only joining fees)

MMT signature is of no use to me since the reward can be redeemed only in MMT and I never used MMT before & won't be using in the future too.

Don't you get cheaper flights, hotels in other websites for the same ones in MMT ?

Already holding ICICI Amzpay with 6.2 lac limit , applied for ICICI LTF platinum card with the sole reason of availing benefit during online sales as amzpay is of no use but to the surprise, application got declined. Also they made two CIBIL enquiry of 1.5 lac each one for credit card and other for a personal loan. totally disgusting also the customer care is worst. On calling it connected to amzpay customer care and they say they have no info regarding ICICI general Credit Cards
