ICICI BANK DATA IS LEAKED BY THE RANSOMWARE GROUP BASHE

I try not to give a mobile number wherever possible. Since that Domino's hack, I have actively started giving stores a fake/ highly shortened name and ask them to use any mobile number of their choosing, must they use one. Sometimes some stores say they do not need it, sometimes some stores put in whatever they might.

I do follow another practice to safeguard my accounts, although it does triple my expenses. That is the cost I must pay for the idiots who mandated upon the banks that all bank accounts must be tied to and depend upon the darned mobile number and OTP.

Problem is these delivery apps need active mobile to get the directions or some confirmations related to order, so we can't avoid and that leaked. Mobile number not a problem (atleast thats how world made us believe) but here with Dominos actual address.

Now this address has, mobile number, email address attached to it. Thats something.

Icici se nahi to kahi or se Data leak hua hai. 3 din se Password recovery ke mails aa rahe hai
1. Uber ka otp aaya
2. Agle din Spotify ka otp aaya whatsapp number and personal number
3. Aaj sweden, europe se kisi ne amazon ka password recover karne ki koshish ki

Sab ko ek advice hai Two factor authentication chalu rakhe....
Sab jahag nahi kar sakte 2 factor. Abi tak accor tak me option nahi aya

There was this app called Doosra which would provide you a private number. Guess what happened to that company!

For any alleged or actual data breach the companies need to share information with all stakeholders. Also there shall be Cyber OSINT and Vigilance to track everything.

There should be a statutory govt. body for audit of cyber security of companies which deals with sensitive data every quarter.

the hackers have now changed the date, next date its 31st Jan (they added 7 days).
negotiation failed or the threat wasn’t even acknowledged in the first place ??

Looks like false alarm/hoax, good thing many ICICI user might have changed their password/PIN due to this.

as I have said multiple times in my post above, to best of my knowledge and the history of these group of hackers, ICICI is not directly impacted & no ICICI servers were hacked, it more or less customer list shared with third part to sell banking products (CC, Loan, FD etc)

i have personally analyzed previous leaks from the said group & none of them contained any critical data that can be used to log in to banks or customer accounts.

ahh that's good to know.
Im sure hacking a bank is not same as hacking a random website, insider someone from inside is helping the hackers ... banks deploy multiple layers of security.
