ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = ₹1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = ₹1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

I have existing 4 month old emeralde pvc with 7.3lac limit, along with a salary account with 1.5 lac salary credited. What would be the best way to get EPM upgrade offer: continue to spend on pvc card, or upgrade to times black and spend there in hopes of EPM upgrade? I usually spend around 1 lac per month.

I applied for Times black just now,it was rejected.I got 4,5 mails previously mentioning that the card was pre approved, now it was rejected.Looks like ICICI is tightening screws on the EPM and Times black.

The Times Black Credit Card cannot be upgraded at this time. Currently, the only way to obtain this card is by applying online—there are no alternative methods available.

Regarding the Emeled Metal Edition, it is an invite-only card, meaning there is no direct application process. To be eligible, you must be a Wealth customer and maintain a strong transactional relationship with the bank. Only after meeting these criteria will a branch manager personally submit an application on your behalf. This exclusivity makes the card highly prestigious but also difficult to obtain.

Why Times Black is the Best Option Right Now

Given the current situation, the Times Black Credit Card is the most practical premium credit card option available. However, even obtaining this card is not as easy as it once was. The eligibility criteria have become stricter, and approvals are limited.

When I first got my Times Black Credit Card, many people discouraged me, saying it wasn’t a great choice and that I was making a mistake. However, I had already anticipated that a card with a high annual fee and premium positioning was bound to offer significant benefits in the long run. The bank had already hinted at accelerated rewards and upcoming new benefits, which signaled that the card would improve over time.

Times Black – A Future Market Leader?

Looking at the current market trends, I strongly believe that the Times Black Credit Card is on track to become one of the most in-demand cards in 2025. As banks continue to introduce new premium benefits, the value of this card will likely increase. Those who already own it may find themselves ahead of the curve, benefiting from exclusive perks that others might struggle to access later.

If you're considering applying, now might be the right time—before the approval process becomes even more selective.

Someone with EP(PVC) and limit of 7.3 lac, Times prime should be a cakewalk as of now. Just put in the details and card should be instantly generated.
