ICICI Limit Enhancement Journey - October 2025

Wanted to share my latest credit limit upgrade journey with ICICI – it’s been quite the process.

I’ve got two ICICI cards:
• Amazon Pay ICICI LTF (Holding since 2022)
• Sapphiro Visa LTF (Issued under corporate scheme 2 months back)

Been using them since 2022, maintained solid repayments, and kept my utilization healthy. Yet every time I request a limit increase, ICICI replied that no offer is available at the moment.

Finally, I decided to ask for a manual LE and emailed headservicequality@icicibank.com.

In short, I wrote that:
• I’ve had a 5L combined limit for over a year.
• Provided income documents supporting increase in salary since card issuance.
• I have also pointed out the fact that I used to have my salary account with ICICI but due to lack for service and offers I have recently moved my salary account away and I am planning to move out of ICICI with respect to cards as well due to poor offers and no limit upgrades.
• If there’s no pre-approved offer, please escalate internally.

The initial reply said : "Sapphiro was issued in less than 3 months so no limit enhancement can be taken".

I asked for a LE on my Amazon Pay card which was around 3 years old.

After this the limit on Amazon Pay card was increased to 7L but the Sapphiro stayed at 5L.

After this I received an email from ICICI which said:
Dear Customer,

We refer to your complaint addressed to ICICI bank.

We wish to inform that the current limit in card number XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is 5L and limit in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is 7L. We request you to kindly confirm the required limit on each of the card.

We hope that you are satisfied with our clarifications regarding your queries.

Sincerely,

Anurag Raulo
Office of Head Service Quality

I thought let me try an approach 😛, I replied:
Hello,

Please put the limit on both cards at 7.5L if possible (around 3X of my monthly income).

If that is not possible then make the both cards at 7L.

Thanks and Regards
Nirjhar Roy

To my surprise I check today and both my cards are now sitting at 7.5L.

Thought about sharing, see if someone else can use the pointers.

ideally all cards will share same limit.... not sure why diff limits were set initially
For icici it's a case where core and Co branded cards can have a different limit. Not like hdfc or other banks sharing same limit. Plus icici is very generous with giving good limits and 1 of the highest limits given by any bank is always icici.

I just sent an email for the same issue. I did not get any LE in last 4 years and customer care email also replied to me the same that my card does not have any offer for the same. So I decided to escalate this and did send them an email today.

What is net salary? Any relation with salary and credit limit

For me ICICI was the only one giving generous LE, although I had to ask. I started with 1.8L on pre approved basis as an intern, then had to share payslip after full time role and limit jumped to 5L. Then had to ask for LE on switch and currently landed at 7.5L

Icici is known for generous limits. If going via manual LE, cibil hit will be there. But the chances of LE increases and most of the bank do not give LE automatically.
