Idfc account close

I have made Account zero balance in idfc and there is no charges pending .
What else to do before closing of account..
Confirmed with customer care .i can close at any branch .. .
Any experience?
Since i will be traveling to another city ..i want it to be closed without any hassle !

Got my account closed today with online link. Very straightforward process. Will miss IDFC's excellent mobile app, but I wanted a zero balance account.

No idea tbh. Others in this thread said that they had to try several times before someone just sent them the link and I was preparing myself for that as well. Must have just gotten lucky first time.

You need to remove all balance before trying online.
And that means accrued interest also.
So, practical option is- on LAST DAY when Interest is credited, remove ALL balance, and next day call and request acc closure link. They will ask reason for closure and send SMS for the link. Fill it and it will be done.

If it is still not done, that means there is some issue with account- go to branch to close it. Don't be laggard for some work. 🙂

Contact customer care and ask them to send account closure link. Once you got the link click on it a form will open. Fill and submit the form, your account will be closed within 3 days.
Keep in mind they will try to convince you to not close the account. And may even say that it is not possible online. If so, say that one of your friend closed the account by this method.
If they still deny wait for 1 hour and call again eventually someone will do it.

I had a demat account open with them. So, I had to wait for 10 days before requesting the link as it was not allowing for them.
Called again today, I had balance in the account - I gave the details, and they closed it in a jiffy. All the pending balance was Nefted to the account i gave.
It was instantaneous, wish all banks had this!!
