This is something which at least I have never seen ever in my life for people holding preferred/imperia account even. Not boasting, just posting my LTF Regalia status. My total credit card spends in a month would usually not cross 6k across all cards, hence never opted for that much limit.
I am though greedy to get a LTF upgrade to a better card as you said DCB, Infinia if there is a workaround.

I aint jumping bro !Woah! That's quite a jump! 🔥
Well, I am not sure as around 5 years back I had a call with someone who proposed for an upgrade of my existing credit card to Regalia LTF and I agreed but I started in HDFC with a salary account, had been swimming in No joy Preferred Account for more than 8 years now, maybe loyalty, good CIBIL etc.How did you manage to get LTF Regalia though? 👀
I see you have a good point, there is no harm in opting for a few more clicks on the way.If you don't take this limit upgrade, then you have a very low chance of getting DCB/Infinia.
If you do take this upgrade, then your chances of getting either of these cards sometime in future, even LTF, becomes a possibility. That's how these things work, as per my understanding.
Also, with such a high limit, your can easily get other super premium CCs easily, even LTF. If I were you, I would have taken this limit upgrade with my eyes closed. I have significant spends per month (~50K) and I'm desperately waiting for a limit upgrade from HDFC. My limit on my business moneyback is only 75K.
Slightly off the track but your vocabulary is very good man!!!I see you have a good point, there is no harm in opting for a few more clicks on the way.
Over the years I have seen the proposed limit go up and up, I last remember it was 13.6 L, now it's 15L so I can vouch for and say is that your offered limit keeps on increasing if other factors are in sync like loyalty, cibil etc. Also, this limit upgrade probably won't last forever. You might regret later ...
You're talking about two HDFC CC's however I have stopped using my Regalia since I have got Amazon Pay ICICI as that gives me prompt cashback at end of the month which I adjust on utility bill payments. You can even get two HDFC CCs from HDFC if you have such a high limit on Regalia.
I agree... accept the offer...This is something which at least I have never seen ever in my life for people holding preferred/imperia account even.
Take this right away then negotiate for LTF DCB/Infinia, otherwise you will regret.
Just let us know in case, if you hold huge Shares of HDFC or have TRV of 50 Lakhs or so with HDFC.
@TechnoFino have you seen this anywhere?? This is something really rarest of the rare scenario.
I know it's insane and I even do not need it.That's insane man
BTW how long have you been using the card?
How did you managed to get such a big jump that is do you have a lot of funds in you account or a higher varient account etc??
I am seeking to take it, only for a LTF upgrade, however I prioritize Amazon ICICI more nowadays, as cashback today is certainly more valuable for me than a reward point redemption even in cash some x months later. This is something which at least I have never seen ever in my life for people holding preferred/imperia account even.

Aha where I lag is in my relationship with my RM, he is in a branch in Bangalore (Sadashivnagar) which I never managed to visit in my life so never could build the kind of understanding that is required to get these kind of things go through easily. Linguistic barriers are there of course, in a different state. Since covid hit I am back to my native so it's more over the phone though hardly i contact him.Do keep us updated. When HDFC is meherbaan on someone, anything can happen.
Thanks let me try.I agree... accept the offer...
then negotiate for LTF Infinia/DCB.
only lucky person get this type of jump 😄
Like you as said at your Yt video 👀I agree... accept the offer...

Google tells me it'sI live in Sadashivnagar
Didn't know there is an HDFC branch there
Where exactly is the branch BTW?
In that case you do have a point if you never increased you limit ever.I am seeking to take it, only for a LTF upgrade, however I prioritize Amazon ICICI more nowadays, as cashback today is certainly more valuable for me than a reward point redemption even in cash some x months later.
No holdings in HDFC, the TRV point you made I do comply.
Even before Amazon Pay ICICI was launched, I would spend 6k on credit card a month, summing upto maybe 1.4 L a year including bulk expenses like insurance premium etc.In that case you do have a point if you never increased you limit ever.
Yeah one should adjust their CC based on spending, not the other way round. If you have less spends, you are saving more than the cashback/rewards. This is just another marketing strategy, to urge us to spend more! 🤷♂️Even before Amazon Pay ICICI was launched, I would spend 6k on credit card a month, summing upto maybe 1.4 L a year including bulk expenses like insurance premium etc.
So I never needed that kind of limit as you rightly thought. Mostly people lead a frugal life in Kolkata, need based spending, less show off 😆
Can't agree more, I do and I believe almost all of us get notifications stating spend 80k on your credit card to get a voucher, at the end of the day we have to shell out that 80k to foot that bill and banks would be happy to gobble up transaction fees from vendors and late fees, EMI charges from us in lieu of that short term credit.Yeah one should adjust their CC based on spending, not the other way round. Yup. New phrase for me ("Irrational exuberance"). If possible, do link the documentary! 🤗Can't agree more, I do and I believe almost all of us get notifications stating spend 80k on your credit card to get a voucher, at the end of the day we have to shell out that 80k to foot that bill and banks would be happy to gobble up transaction fees from vendors and late fees, EMI charges from us in lieu of that short term credit.
I remember in one of the documentaries that I saw sometime back they had coined a nice term for this... Irrational exuberance.
I am not really sure about the documentary but if you google it you would see the origin and books around this.Yup. New phrase for me ("Irrational exuberance"). If possible, do link the documentary! 🤗
Again I may sound odd here but for me to grab a higher credit limit is not for those vouchers & benefits.Yup. New phrase for me ("Irrational exuberance"). If possible, do link the documentary! 🤗
