IDFC Violating RBI/IT Rules for PAN AADHAR linkage

Sobirvs

I have a wealth account and I wanted my brother and dad to have an account aswell under family banking.

IDFC keeps giving error online and offline KYC for opening account. Upon checking with the bank, they say pan aadhar linkage is mandatory.

But residents of few states are not required for doing this, yet IDFC keeps forcing us to do so. My dad/brother comes from that state which doesn't have this policy of linking aadhar/pan.

I am thinking of going to RBI Ombudsman. How much monetary damage claim should I raise for this?

first raise the issue with bank itself at multiple levels. An email or written confirmation would be better that "Even after RBI guidelines for J&K residents, your PAN & Aadhar should be linked"

Post that write to RBI BO.

Remember rbi ombudsman is there to get ur issues resolved not for earning monetary fund by complaining on each and every thing.

Hope u understand and take positively.

My issue is not abt money, but inconvenience. It wasted like 2 weeks already. I had 3-4 times issues with banks before, like icici etc, and I did put claim amount but icici tried to haggle and i let the issue go without asking money even though icici helped me only when i put rbi complain. But how many times should i ignore this bullshit of banks man... Hence asking. I do want to get compensated. I went to my hometown for this thing specifically, It costed me 15k of fuel + business damage (as I didn't work for a week), I don't care for compensation, I wanted the acc to get opened. But IDFC bullshitting me here. So finally I went with this thinking that I want as high amount as possible. Because I want banks to take their customers fckn' seriously. Enough is enough.

as for the location, that's not really "my" location, but ya I edited the post.

My Q remains, what amount claim should I raise? I am thinking, 5-10L but I wanna be realistic. I don't even have any idea what is a realistic number. Is above 10L a realistic number or 50k is a realistic number?

No matter what ever you put in compensation you will get only what RBIO wants
And max limit is 1L ig of putting

Pan and aadhar link is mandatory & also now linking pan aadhar u have to give fine I guess

If their system gives error what can they do about it

Aadhaar linked with different number is different kinda problem but aadhar pan not linked is very different problem

No idea about state law but after 370 it's the same constitution eventually things will be same

And always remember,
The best complaint to RBI is what is truly filed by you by your heart with no body's intrusion.
A true complaint is YOUR complaint

"Too many cooks spoil the broth." As simple as that.
Always do what you see fit! particularly for complaint I am saying
