Just had a call with ICICI support and they told me that if we cancel your card at account level, it will not be reflected in CIBIL.
I already have APay card. I applied for expression based on APay and asked them that I want to withdraw the expression application. Got it in written that upgradation request is cancelled still Expression was issued.
I know that if the card is deactivated (new card not used with 30 days of issuance), it will still show in CIBIL.
I dont want the card to show in CIBIL.
Thats why the question..
If the executive cancels the card on account level, will it show in CIBIL?

Solution
There are two types of cancellation in ICICI:
1. Account Level
2. Card Level

Let me explain with an example having 3 cards- Amazon Pay ICICI, ICICI Coral, ICICI Rubyx.
For these three cards, ICICI will generate two accounts in CIBIL- one for Apay, and the other one for Coral & Rubyx (combined, bcz they are same category gemstone cards).

1. If you cancel only ICICI coral / only ICICI Rubyx it will be treated as a card level cancellation, since ICICI in that CC account is still alive, it will continue to get reported in CIBIL. (Card Level Cancellation)

2. If you cancel both Coral & Rubyx, it will be treated as an account level Cancellation, And ICICI is deemed to report to CIBIL That this account is closed dated xx-xx-xxxx.

3. If you...

I hope it clarifies, so since your Expression card is cancelled and there is no other gemstone series card issued to you your account even if get added in CIBIL it will get closed by ICICI in upcoming quarter.

I hope this helps.
Bhai ye apni Legend wali baat batayi h!!💪💪

Most of the people who are with ICICI over a decade would also be not aware of it.😑😑

In fact I knew about Account & Card level but wasn't aware of multiple cards that can be grouped under one account.😁😁

Thanks for showing your experience.👍👍
Appreciated!!👏👏👏

Which basic card is better to avoid new account in CIBIL.
Do you plan to apply for some important loan soon? If not, I don't think you should be so concerned about adding another account on CIBIL -- as it ages, an extra account's only going to add to your score (unless you default on payments or blow up utilization).

Already have active home loan, i read somewhere in this forum that Many credit account will be red flag for future credit applications.

I think you misread it. Many active credit cards means you are active and good financially and can have a good budget. You are balancing your expenses and income.
But missing EMIs or over utilization (generally below 30% over all credit cards is ok) etc means you are bad.

No, having more accounts is better for credit score.

Only thing is that a new account will bring down average credit age. The impact of average credit age on credit score is like 10-15%. Number of accounts is again 10% or so.

I think that for CIBIL, 5 years essentially gives you full score. And I believe 5 accounts gives you full score -- but there's the "mix" factor. With one home loan you should be good on the mix factor.

Note that adding to your credit line with a card will also bring down your utilization ratio (another reason to add a credit card) -- but if you're already been keeping it below 9%, you don't particularly gain from another card on util ratio. But util ratio contributes 30% towards the score.
