Key Notes:

  • Separate Accounts: Multiple cards from the same bank will show as separate accounts in CIBIL, meaning each card has its own credit limit.

Impact: This increases your overall credit limit, reduces ⬇️ credit utilization, but increases ⬆️ potential debt risk in CIBIL's view.

  • Axis Bank: Card upgrades usually apply only if cards have the same reward system or through the retention team. Otherwise, each card is reported as a separate account in CIBIL.

  • AU Bank: Upgrades often result in a new card with fresh payment history.

Update if any changes in your bank. TIA!

It will be hard to track exact entries because they could differ on a case to case basis.

You applying for a HDFC card while someone else applying for a HDFC card could have different entries based on the source you applied for.
The agent who's applying, the online platforms that was involved, the bank rep that is processing the application.

Additional factors like if you have an account with the bank and the cards you hold with them.
Some people only get one entry per card while another person might get 2-3 entries per card based on the above factors or human error.

😀 I'm taking about CIBIL accounts, not enquiries..

Post is about number of account that bank reports in our CIBIL, if we hold multiple cards from them..

Ex:
StanC - Even if you hold 4 cards, there is only 1 account in CIBIL..
Axis - If you hold 4 cards, it will show 4 accounts.

Modified to avoid confusion.

Someone who hold multiple cards from same bank, could you confirm how many CIBIL accounts are you seeing in your CIBIL report?

Let me know if any new changes in these banks or any other you have? TIA
