In what order should I update my mobile number?

COSMOCRAT

TF Premier
I'm buying a new mobile number and want to limit its use to financial and government IDs & stuff. I want to know what order would be efficient.
Below I have mapped out an order that I think is right:

1. Important government docs
  • AADHAR - Wanted to update email ID and new home address anyway
  • PAN
  • Voter ID
2. Email ID linked to all the listed places
3. Government Sites

  • ITR
  • EPFO
  • DigiLocker
4. Bank Accounts
5. Investments

  • Mutual funds
  • Demat
  • PPF - I don't know if I need to do it separately or if it will happen alongside the PPF holding bank
  • NPS
6. Credit Cards
  • Axis, ICICI, SBI
7. Others...
  • Paytm
  • Apay
Let me know if I'm missing something or any better way.

Excellent use case scenario!!!

I think linking this no to onescore is not right. There is a huge chance that this number would then be circulated to 3rd party agents.

Also imo, order depends on how many days does it take for entity to reflect the change. In case of Aadhaar iirc it is 2-3 days. PAN, Voter ID and DL, all these take longer. On the other hand, updating phone number in banks and credit cards is quite fast. My order would be to first complete all those which could be applied or done online(PAN, VoterID, Most of the banks) then move to Aadhaar as you would be changing a lot of things, and later move to DL.

Making full use of dual sim. 😄

Yeah, you are right. Onescore asks for PAN and mobile number. Will see if it needs to be the same as linked to PAN or not. If it's the same then I guess I'll switch to Gpay or get a CIBIL subscription.

If I update number of the bank, will it automatically do the same to PPF or is there a different process for it?

No idea, never tried tbh. Considering that you are venturing in this direction, do document everything so we have a reference point from now on.

You can have different number in Onescore.
Does not need to be same as PAN/Aadhar.

While you're at it, create a new Email ID for financial related services and update that as well, if not already done.

Keeping 2-3 separate IDs for various purposes helps in a huge way, is my only recommendation.

Mobile number leak doesn't do that much damage as you can always use Spam Blocking apps and services, provided your regular number is separate from your banking number, just like in your case.

First Aadhaar, if you require to change it. And then everything as per convenience. But whatever you do I suggest keep the use to minimum if you aim to get less unsolicited call on that number, although it is hard to do.

Yup, 2 years ago I sorted my email IDs. I ditched my 10 year old gmail ID that was used at places I don't even remember to 5 email IDs. Based on work, personal, google services, MS services, and important stuff(mentioned in the main post).

This time around, will be doing the same with phone no.
