Transfers goes through account number only as per RBI guidelines, name doesn't make any difference. You can try putting name as Abc Def and transaction will go through if account number is valid.to my knowledge the receiving branch will check the account number with the account name..if it doesnt match you are good
i know transaction will go through and its all well and good if you had the correct account number...but when you contact the bank saying its wrong transaction..u dont think bank will verify the account name with account number? you can claim you wrote wrong account number but u cannot claim you wrote the wrong account name while belongs to that account number tooTransfers goes through account number only as per RBI guidelines, name doesn't make any difference. Definitely you can do that but If wrong account number person has withdrawn then it is very difficult to recover moneyi know transaction will go through and its all well and good if you had the correct account number...but when you contact the bank saying its wrong transaction..u dont think bank will verify the account name with account number? you can claim you wrote wrong account number but u cannot claim you wrote the wrong account name while belongs to that account number too
you definitely cannot even if the guy doesn't withdraw money...bank cannot take credited money out of anyone's account without the account holders permissionDefinitely you can do that but If wrong account number person has withdrawn then it is very difficult to recover money
You can use any name... Name doesn't matter for money transfer.to my knowledge the receiving branch will check the account number with the account name..if it doesnt match you are good
in a deposit slip..there are two places you write account number..one for banks copy and another counter file for you..its banks job to make sure those account numbers match..so if the transfer happens because of that then its banks fault..but in online transaction you will receive refund only if the wrong receiver agrees to refund the moneyYou can use any name... Name doesn't matter for money transfer.
Same happened to me some years ago when someone sent 25 k to me via branch. From IOB to Canara.... He mistakenly quoted wrong number (For eg 08 instead of 80) and amount went to another person. I asked the sender to check the deposit slip or send me proof that in which account he sent money. He kept saying that he transferred in correct account. But at last he cross checked with the deposit slip and my account number and he found ac number mismatch in slip.
I went to home branch, manager checked and found that 25k credited to that person's account and he didn't withdraw it. Quickly manager sent a mail to block that amount to his branch manager and money was returned successfully to the sender account
So it is little hard to get the money if money is already withdrawn.
Bank cannot match account number and name as IOB can't verify Canara Bank account holder name for NEFT in some years agoin a deposit slip..there are two places you write account number..one for banks copy and another counter file for you..its banks job to make sure those account numbers match..so if the transfer happens because of that then its banks fault..but in online transaction you will receive refund only if the wrong receiver agrees to refund the money
