Indusind legend cc limit mismatch

Hi, I closed my Legend credit card 3 months ago, which had a limit of ₹88K. I had repeatedly tried to send emails for a LE with all the required documents, but due to technical issues on their end, they couldn’t receive my emails. Frustrated with their service, I decided to close the card.

Recently, I received an email inviting me to apply for a credit card, so I thought I’d try my luck. This time, the limit shown during the application was ₹1.03L, which made me happy because I hoped to eventually upgrade to the Pinnacle Card since the limit was above ₹1L.

The card got approved and delivered, but to my shock, the limit assigned was just ₹50K. This is disappointing because none of the cards in my portfolio have a limit below ₹2L, and I have maintained a good TRV with IndusInd Bank. I also give them significant business, so I expected better treatment but in return I got this wonderful gift.

With such a low limit, I am stuck because I won’t qualify for upgrades. On top of that, their email support is terrible.

How should I proceed further? Any suggestions?
I applied for this card solely based on the limit shown during the application process. I am actually in the process of shifting my funds to another bank.

The limit shown on the email is the maximum limit that you can get. It's not necessary that you get 1.03L on your card just because you saw that limit in the email. Credit limit issued will be done by the credit underwriting team who does not care what is the limit that you had seen on the email.

My advise is to close the card and move on with life. There is nothing worth in applying and keeping the Legend card

I understand that the limit is assigned based on internal checks, but tbh, I did not need the Legend Credit Card. I applied for this card solely because the limit displayed during the application process was ₹1.03L. I intended to upgrade this card to the Pinnacle Credit Card later.

In my experience, banks typically show a range of limits (minimum to maximum), unlike IndusInd Bank, which displayed an exact estimated limit. If a bank displays such a specific limit, they are expected to honor it—just like HDFC Bank does.

This misleading practice seems to be common with IndusInd Bank and Bank of Baroda, and it is quite disappointing.

I have already sent an email regarding this issue, and if the limit is not matched to what was displayed during the application process, I will close this card without a second thought. I simply do not care to keep it under these circumstances.

Even I closed my Legend cc 3 months ago because of no Limit increase issues.

I read somewhere that we can apply for a new card only after 6 months. So did you apply again for Indusind Legend online directly or via any agent ?

Actually I updated my mob num in bank records after that 1 month later I got an email and I went ahead and applied online
Otherwise like u said it's 6 months not 3 months

There's another way
After closing the cc again apply for the card via agent - ur applic will be rejected instantly then after 3 months u will receive an email or call from them with pre approved offer
By this way u can bypass that 6 months cooling period

If possible, can you tell me the subject line of the email that you got for applying again ?

I get many emails from Indusind, so I'll look for a specific one now..

Can we just upgrade to pinnacle with 1 lakh limit ?

U can apply online directly
There's no speciality in that email
It's a normal promotional email that we usually get
Or
As u said u received several emails just go through one of the emails

I checked all the emails. Closed the card on 14th Aug 2024 as per their records and got this email on Dec 3rd 2024.

I can wait till Feb 2025 or check now, its all about the test of patience now..:fire:

I said after reading your number change remark..

I said after reading your number change remark..
After closing my credit card, I immediately applied for a new one using the same mobile number. The application was instantly rejected, which is expected in such cases.
However, it doesn’t really require changing your mobile number to bypass the standard cooldown period. If you’re able to apply for a credit card immediately after closing your old one and it gets rejected, you’ll typically receive a call to reapply after just 3 months.

If, however, you’re not able to apply immediately after closing your card, there are two ways to proceed:
  1. Apply through an agent.
  2. Update your mobile number and try applying again.
In my case, I happened to change my mobile number for unrelated reasons, not specifically for the credit card application. Three months after the initial rejection, I applied again, and the new credit card was approved without any issues.

Summary:
If your credit card application is rejected immediately after closing a previous card, the usual 6-month cooldown period is often reduced to 3 months. You don’t need to change your mobile number for this—you’ll likely get a call to reapply after 3 months. Changing my number was coincidental and unrelated to this process. However, if you couldn’t apply immediately, applying through an agent or updating your mobile number can help.
