Infinia LTF?

Yeah, hence I said
@anish1516 Is your brother getting a LTF Metal Infinia then? That would be nice.

Yes, I went for my brothers Regalia to Infinia upgrade. She confirmed that she got Infinia issued to some other customer recently. I did not categorically ask for metal or pvc.

Although I haven't heard anybody getting LTF Metal Infinia based on Imperia status or salary credit.

Infinia cards can be LTF if you are Imperia customer having more than 2.5L net salary credit to account. It also depends on the card usage. If you don't use the current card it's rare that you would get a upgrade. If someone if looking for LTF Metal Infinia I don't understand the logic behind that. Apart from plastic and metal there is no difference in any of the benefits.
To add metal cards not able to use in some of the atms where plastic is a winner

I got it based upon salary credited. The salesperson clearly told that the net salary should be upwards of 2.75L per month for Infinia and 1.75L for DCB. They'll be issued respectively without questions in that case.

Per HDFC rules, I speculate the minimum base salary for Infinia is 36L and max is 45-48L. If your base is 36L+, you can talk to someone higher-up the chain who can invite you. I, actually, was reaching out for a higher up via a long chain for Infinia, and they assured it can easily be done(they can invite up to 4-6 ppl in a quarter, so they'd send the invitation next quarter since the current quarter quota is full). Then I switched jobs, and didn't need to take the long route.

Edit: Regular Infinia, not LTF

Yup I was talking about the LTF part. Regardless, some solid info there. I made the mistake of going for Regalia. I was told to wait for at least 6 billing cycles. He also mentioned the 7.5L spend, and 2.75L net salary credit, but didn't seem too adamant on it.

Anyway, I've parked some funds in the account that qualifies it for Imperia. (Currently preferred).

RM is not super proactive. I've got some leverage though. He has been after me to get my mother to open an account. I'll hold that conditional to me getting Infinia. xD

Let's see how that goes in 2 months.

But coming back to the point of this thread. Anish is saying Regalia to LTF Infinia upgrade is possible (given the salary requirements and stuff). Has anybody else been offered new/upgrade LTF Infinia recently?

LTF Infinia metal is news to me. Must be extremely rare.

You're saying that you made a 'mistake' by selecting Regalia. I am guessing either you earn upwards of 2.75L p.m. or you have a high spending on your card. If it's the former, you can talk to some other RM/salesperson, who can upgrade to Infinia ASAP.

Well as for eligibility, I was not really meeting the Infinia criteria, but the CC person was pretty confident he could get me Infinia (Metal, non-LTF) without too much worries.

At that point, probably I wasn't really thinking very mathematically. But to justify the cost of Infinia, one doesn't necessarily need to spend a lot. The way I think about it, Infinia costs around 4k to 5k (joining fee + GST - value of points). At 3.3% rate (versus my LTF Regalia's 1.3% rate, so 2% higher reward rate on Infinia), to break even the 5k cost, you need to spend 2.5L on the card. My spends are close to 25k per month + 15k rent. Maybe an odd intnl trip a year, that would add another 3L to 5L.

So no, I don't really have high spending on my card. Hence, applying Infinia directly would have been a better option vs in my case now they additionally have the "7.5L spend in 6 months" criteria for the upgrade, which I definitely won't reach.

Yes, you need to meet the criteria to have a smooth application process, in my experience. I am not sure about the higher spending limit(too much gamble), but if you have ₹36L as base salary, there's a higher chance.

Since you get points equivalent of annual charge, the effective cost is ₹2,250/- only(18% of ₹12,500 and 1:1 points redemption). Assuming you don't use smartbuy at all(unlikely), a ₹40k with 3.3% would yield 1,320 points, which is equal to ₹1320 when redeemed for 1:1 value. So you break even in 2 months easily. At max 3 months, counting the additional charges on paying rent via CC.
