Infinia vs Atlas

For airline tickets worth 2 lakhs, which would provide better value? Infinia or Axis Atlas? Atlas would provide 10k Axis miles which would transfer at 20k miles with various airlines. Would Infinia beat that?
In addition, what about normal POS transactions? Is Infinia better at 3.3% or Atlas at 2% which is equivalent to 4 airline miles?

I see more trolling than the useful discussion in this thread that had a good question.

I know it’s old thread, however, here are my two cents (I have both the cards) - it’s not a question of Infinia vs Atlas, but to have Infinia and Atlas both and use them accordingly. Magnus Burgundy is great but I absolutely dislike the whole Burgundy status situation. Axis is not my preferred banker and the way they operate, it’s unlikely they’ll be. So if you find value in keeping Burgundy status with Axis then Magnus card works the best.

For direct airlines and hotels, use Atlas, that 10% is good return. I have another thread that talks about how best we can use these points. SMARTBUY deals are unmatched and along with GYFTR, I very often use it for my small hotel and flight needs, straight 16% work’s fairly well.

The aspect of ease of use of points is very important and we often forget it compared to mathematical return calculations. Between 4% of Atlas and 3.3% of Infinia, I’ll prefer Infinia. Using Infinia points is a lot simpler and easy compared to Atlas points.

Atlas also troubled me a lot when they blocked the card and asked me for petty bills of my use 6 months old. The card and points are active now, but they blocked it for a month in March and I totally lost confidence in the card then. Since then, I have used Atlas only for 10% transactions as they are limited and I can keep those bills for whimsical Axis if they chose to ask for them in future.

Infinia is better than Atlas for air tickets on Smartbuy.
Also Atlas spends are subject to scrutiny and you maybe asked for invoices for all transactions in the travel category which give 10% return.
But Magnus burgundy is the best.

Normal POS Atlas 4% is better than Infinia

Axis only asks for bills in the travel category which are giving 10% return, because they don't want travel agents to abuse this facility and book air tickets and hotels for clients.

They want to make sure that it is for your personal travel only

Not true, out of 4 transactions bill Axis asked for, one of them was KFC order on Zomato of some 700 rupee.

I understand they want to curb misuse, but they need to find a better way than to harass the users! Thanks to their stupidity, i got some sanity back and redistributed my expenses from Atlas.

1. Booking flights with Infinia vs Atlas -
a. Very high rates on Smartbuy compared to direct airline sites. Many sites like Indigo mobile app, Akasa give flat 10% or more discount which is not available on Smartbuy.
b. Higher convinience fees on Smartbuy.
c. Very dynamic pricing on Smartbuy for near travel dates ( 1 to 3 days). Direct Airline site pricing is less dynamic.

2. Infinia RPs on flights (even if 15.5% as only 70% redeemable for 1:1) are worth.
a. 15.5% is a good number especially when the value is directly comparable to cash/revenue.
b. Atlas miles 10% -12.5% or more do not have value of 1:1 anymore except for Accor and very pricy business or first class flights, especially when Vistara is going away (Air India is a bloody miles sucker). I consider value of Atlas miles as 1:0.5.
c. Flight availability using miles is another progressively difficult issue.

So, the war is still on.
