Last month experience of my wife who has diners add on in Dubai and Frankfurt airport. You just have to swipe and there is not amount shown and entry will be allowed.
If you have a guest, then they will add a guest as +1 and will be charged depending on lounge. My son who went with my wife as guest was charged 30 USD in Dubai lounge. Please note it is not pos transaction though you swipe it. No pin needed. It will be considered a online transaction and you should have enabled international online usage. If not it will be declined.
So there is no way to determine before swiping the card (except going on diners website and checking) whether it is complimentary or not?It didn't show any amount at all. The lounge was mentioned as complimentary in the Diners website so confidently entered my PIN. That is the only way to confirm I guess. There has been no charges.
Have used international lounge only twice. Both cases were same. The lounge operator also confirmed Diners Black is accepted though. So there is no way to determine before swiping the card (except going on diners website and checking) whether it is complimentary or not?

I recently had a different experience with diners twice in lounges in Europe. As me and my wife used our DCB (she has an addon), the receptionist said that she was facing problems entering two cards with the same number. I did not ask much and used my priority pass for one person. Any one facing such issues recently?
Thanks. I think that might be the case. Previously I never had this problem anywhere in any international lounge. Maybe I just got a bit unlucky....If the cards are being swiped there will be no problem because the POS will recognize them as separate cards. A number of other cards follow this procedure including Amex and others. It's never an issue. There might have been a problem with the way she was either entering the data, her competence levels or something else.
I've used both together, domestic and internationally, never a problem
I faced the same issue in Singapore. Receptionist was confused as when the addon card was swiped their screen showed my name and same number. But I asked her to proceed and it worked without any issue.I recently had a different experience with diners twice in lounges in Europe. You fail to understand my question. A card not having international lounge access will also be accepted at the lounge, but will be charged accordingly i.e. a card acceptance has nothing to do with international lounge access.I'm not sure why people are so confused about lounge access with DCB. If DCB is accepted it is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS complimentary access for the card holder (primary or add-on).
Some services in the lounge maybe at a separate cost but that is only the lounge owner to let you know that before you purchase that service. For example - alcohol in domestic lounges in India, sleeping pods, conference rooms, staying over a stipulated number of hours etc.

I wanted to ask, how do you know before entering pin, if the access is chargeable or not.
No, they charge Rs 2.00 per swipe per guest.Does it show 0 as amount or no amount at all? If no amount is shown, how can we conform if it's complimentary or not?
His point may be correct as one time in KL the receptionist said Diners is not even accepted, did not swipe and try.You fail to understand my question. I was charged 2 Rs on domestic loungue with Diners. No charge mentioned in statement (no sms too) for international loungue access.Does it show 0 as amount or no amount at all? If no amount is shown, how can we conform if it's complimentary or not?
Yes. They compared name on boarding pass and card. At the end of the day it is upto the lounge receptionist to allow access if name doesn't matchSo no amount is deducted for international lounge use in dcb?
No pin required?
DO they check name on pos machine. I have card with surname only

No amount will be deducted and though it is pos machine they swipe, it is not pos transaction. So no amount is deducted for international lounge use in dcb?

Thanks for reply. No amount will be deducted and though it is pos machine they swipe, it is not pos transaction.
They just validate the boarding pass and create entry through machine. So surname match is sufficient.
If you add guest access then it is paid and becomes a chargeable transaction.
you can swipe for other people (like family members, if you have multiple cards), so i don't think that would be an issue. Thanks for reply.
My main que is dcb is in my brothers name . He opted to print only surname on card so that any of our brother can use that card because surname is same.
Do pos machine shows them actual name and they can deny ? Or they just check physical card name only.
Whats an FnF credit card ?I have always asked for tap and pay in lounge and never have they accepted in any lounge. They always say it’s not working, but I believe it’s a way of filtering out people who use FnF credit cards without pin.
