IOB Appreciation Post

True, Airtel is marking everything as spam nowadays. Meri ek important delivery miss hote hote reh gyi.

Bhai Airtel is a child in whitelisting/blacklising business. When everyone was praising Airtel here on TF about this service, I told specifically that some US graduate Indian consultant has recently learned about this 30 year old trick and is now advising the dumb F**ks at airtel. Airtel would eventually launch a a b2b service to allow businesses to get a green tick mark by airtel, this doesn't work in the west due to anti trust laws but this is India so fasten your seatbelts.

Ase ch***ye mne aaj tak ni dekhe bhai.

my vkyc is not happening. Saying agents busy and giving me a slot of 3rd april. I mean today I can understand but what about tomorrow.

Man 31st and 1st is essentially non working day at banks (don't know why). My nearest BoB branch is not doing any transaction till 1st April.

Don't schedule right now. Try on 2nd once.

dekhte hai fir 2nd ko

Also, just open the general account to start worh but I would suggest you later uograde to SB Max (can be done online) account. With 5000 MAB (irrespective of branch type) you dont get SMS charges. Not bad if you ask me

Note: Cheque book delivery charge is unavoidable for any account type. This would be the speedpost charges, 60 chequebooks free for SB Max. 20-25 for General.

Dont forget to get the passbook. It's difficult to work with older employees in the bank without the passbook.

No other surprises apart from these.

After you get the account generate an alphanumeric account no (eg RITWIOB). People can transfer you money by entering the letters instead of numbers in beneficiary. This feature is unquie to businesses eg Zerodha has alphanumeric account no.

People are surprised when I share my VVIP accout no (eg RAMTXN)

Note: You can generate the alphanumeric no once for free, but if you want to change it, it will cost you Rs 30-50 for each change.

Thanks for the insights bro. I didnt opt for chequebook because never gonna use this account.

Also bank is far from my place. So have to check if I can get the passbook printed.

Also currently even 3rd april is showing No slots available.

Yeah, that's fine, don't book the slot now, keep trying on 2nd and 3rd, I am 90% sure you will be connected. When I opened the account, the next available slot was 4 days away, I tried early morning the next day and connected successfully.

Passbook is only required for branch banking, not a big deal. But see if you can go to the branch once, get the passbook, and get the feel of the branch.

thanks bro. will check on 2nd and update you guys.

I opened a new account in iob recently. They didn't add my PAN or Email to the account. Also had applied for rupay select from physical application they sent me visa classic. I applied again from app after activating the visa classic (need debit card to enable transactions in the iob app, thankfully visa classic was free).

Also have pestered the branch to apply for chequebook since that's the only way to get your free chequebook quota, and they've not done anything 🤡
