Has anyone won anything more significant than ₹3-5 in cashback? Like they have some slots jackpots for laptops, iphones, etc. And the winners are never listed or announced anywhere afaik.
I can remove permissions from many apps, but they ultimately make such apps unusable or only with a very limited set of features. Sure I can drive a car without any engine by pushing it, but it isn't a car really anymore. A bullock cart would be better.
Email id access is different from other access that apps have.. And if u are giving access for something you are using as a service why complain??? its not a mandatory permission.. you have given consent..CRED USP is convinience.. and some more..

The issue is email access is given for a service but CRED uses it to sell you other stuff.....because no service comes free. If some service is free online, you are almost always paying with your data.

If anyone is using a free personal email from any provider and not setting up their own email server then they are sharing the data to the email provider to firm. All other companies come later.

"We do not process email content to serve ads, and we are not compensated by developers for API access. Gmail’s primary business model is to sell our paid email service to organizations as a part of G Suite. We do show ads in consumer Gmail, but those ads are not based on the content of your emails. You can adjust your ads settings at any time.
The practice of automatic processing has caused some to speculate mistakenly that Google “reads” your emails. To be absolutely clear: no one at Google reads your Gmail, except in very specific cases where you ask us to and give consent, or where we need to for security purposes, such as investigating a bug or abuse."
