Wait to receive the product, then cancel it the same day. EMI conversion typically takes 4 business days. Try canceling through customer care, as they mentioned that if you pre-close via MyCards, the processing fees won’t be refunded.
So I always call and cancel.

Currently I am out of country thus not able to call Customer care.

Best option is to call and cancel, as you can save on processing fees and accumulated interest.
Not sure of other option, you can try emailing them.

The trick works but now hdfc charges for cancellation... Earlier it was free.. Currently only icici and axis are giving free cancellation of emi.....

I know that ICICI gives free EMI cancellation from the date of transaction visible in the unbilled statement till the bill date.. but does AXIS bank offer the same 0 Charges policy refunding all the processing fees and taxes ??

YES....U CAN DO IT VIA CHAT,MAIL OR CALL ON AXIS....EVERYTHING LIKE EMI CHARGES,GST GETS REVERSED

Yes, Axis has the same policy as ICICI. All charges are reversed. Tested just a week back.
