Is it mandatory to buy two wheeler insurance from showroom

So I talked to Icici lombard they told me that there are two plans
1. 1 year 1st party 5 year third party
2. 5 year 1st party 5 year third party
Can you suggest me the best two wheeler insurance provider and what addon I should consider.
I am considering tata aig as of now.
Almost all are same for genuine damage everyone covers, Tata and ICICI are both equally good. Just take 5 year comprehensive plan
Ergo has express t&c which says failing pollution check may result into cancellation of claim

You mean 5 year 1st party?
Settlement ratio is not good of icici.
What about iffco tokio?

So they don't remimburse if city is not in their list?
Most of the insurance provider only covers repairs done in partnered garages
But for 2 wheeler I think you would be fine with any good provider. May be some one else can shed some light
As I'm not very aware about technicalities

If you're in t1. Acko seems best.

If not.

I had Iffco now I've shifted to icici. (Both only Own damage.)

No claims so far. But for mental peace

Showroom gave me tata 1 year comprehensive and 5 year third part. I was okay with it. But when my own damage was due for renewal there was a technical problem with tata renewals. So shifted to iffco for own damage for two years. Then policy बाजार gave good offer for icici so shifted to it. As ifco was reimbursing the amount and icici was cashless.

Best would be acko 5 years comprehensive. Or go digit.

I'm in tier 3 so these two don't work for me. And overall they're just some percentage cheaper.

Bike it tvs apache rtr 160 4v. Have run 27k in 3 years and 2 months. Have made no claim.

During the purchase I didn't know these things. Or else would've saved a few bucks back then.

It's nice to have contacts in showroom/service centre and insurance company.

And. Priority should be zero dep addon and other add ons like RSA and nut bolts coverage and so on. It'll be marginal difference.

You can also go for 1 year comprehensive + 5 year third party and renew own damage every year. You'll get no claim bonuses and stuff like that.

Yes I am also thinking of that.
Should I take icici online or with the help of branch person so maybe he help during claim

Branch, showroom, online like policy bazar/paytm etc Try everything and make the best decision I'd say. If you have time.

BTW which bike r u getting.?

As policy bazaar and paytm are agents who sells insurance doesn't they charge more as compared to what I get directly from insurance company itself?
