Issues with AU Ixigo Credit Card Application Rejection and Delay in RBI Ombudsman Complaint Resolution

My AU Ixigo credit card application was rejected without any clear reason provided initially.

After several follow-ups over a few weeks, I was told that the rejection was due to the high number of active credit cards I currently hold.

questioned why this criterion was not mentioned during the application process and asked for the maximum number of credit cards allowed. I did not receive a satisfactory response.

I filed a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman on 29th January.
The next day, I received a call from the bank stating the same reason for rejection. When I mentioned the lack of clarity, they suggested reapplying after 6 months. I questioned the rationale behind reapplying, as my number of active cards would remain the same

Since then, I have not received any updates from AU Bank or the RBI Ombudsman.

Could anyone guide me on the next steps I should take to resolve this issue?

They are losers, they did physical verification at home as well as office and then rejected citing internal reason, i asked pno and they gave me the same internal policy bullshit
I complained to RBI and they gave the reason high number of credit card, i agreed to their reason but asked them why they did home and office verification when they could have rejected just after cibil check and they had no answers and RBI shamefully closed my complaint after one month

You can't do nothing
Rbi won't interfere bank's internal rules.
Like sbi rejects cards for the same reason citing over leverage.
So bank can set which ever guideline they want. You have to follow.
So close some of your cards then re apply after six months otherwise you won't get any

but can i expect any compensation? because i followed up daily with AU bank. via calls and email and after around 20-25 days. i got a response from them. only after when i told them that i will complain to RBI. so can i expect compensation for not getting any reapply from AU bank?i escalated to the highest level

No you won't get any.
Getting compensation is not that easy.
Rbi only imposes penalty on banks or nbfc when they have made obvious errors.
In your case they have not done any.
But you may try
