Here is my experience of opening Jana finance ( video kyc - variant account)

590 joining fees ,+ 590 annual fees in first year
Yes account variant name is - video kyc ( don't open other account type like sa+fd or digi account)

STEPS :-
1 - OPEN JANA FINANCE BANK WEBSITE WEBSITE LINK
2 - TOP LEFT MENU
NOW SELECT -
INDIVIDUAL
SAVINGS accounts
video kyc (4th In list ) 2500 mab or 25k fd
Start now

3 - FILL YOUR DETAILS
IMPORTANT INFO HERE WHILE FILLING FORM
IF you address doesn't have Jana finance bank branch your application won't go through.
What's the remedy - CHECK BRANCHES FROM here. :- BRANCH LOCATOR

Give new address as communication address ( no verification doc asked as u know ) but maybe during kyc u might have hiccups if you aren't calling from current address)

Solution is use - only for TF ace and above dm me

Now coming to Vkyc experience:-
( If u don't get agent keep trying u will get or schedule even then u might not find agent then just keep trying eventually u will get within a hour of try )

- they will ask you
Name
DoB
Father's name
Email id
Complete address ( communication) with pincode
Tell u read code from screen
Picture & Signature

They might ask where u calling from

After this - they will inform you to fund 2500 or fund 25k & get rupay platinum dc for free FY.
But Tell them u are interested in Rupay select Dc & will get it by calling customer care.
They will agree .
Then they will inform about intrest rate fd rd . which you listen & nod .

AFTER KYC :- ONE HOUR INTO KYC I GOT CRN number
Logged into app with CRN number.
Called customer care ( it's straight forward call like idfc ivr directly connected to agent )
They will verify your details like name ,dob ,mother name , email
And tell them u want Rupay select dc .they will say 590 + gst agree and u will recieve a sms for request number.
While on call

You will get dc + dc pin ( 2 parcel via courier)
+ Maybe a welcome kit too

In same evening got call for applying dc & cheque.
Since I had cheque book.
I applied for just cheque book (25p ) free.
For passbook - was told to contact bank

More details below

Only charge I have faced is delivery fee of 59 for Cheque book (nothing for card tho)

Received DC in a week... but its not working for rupay select benefits.. transaction is getting declined by back.
Ok thanks.. please do update if the dc issue is sorter. I am confused between union HNI and iob HNI… looking for a LTF Rupay select with good benefits!!

Isn't Union bank 1L MAB?

I found only PNB and IOB 50k. And I choose IOB cuz its closest to me.
When the benifits is 5-6 times the fees ..
Why chase hni account and stuck your money for no reason

Unless u keep 5-10 lakh as liquid funds

@Vasuki, thanks for providing good information.

Jana bank was very far from house, felt it would be hassle had I ever needed to visit physically.
Because of my need for an account with better remittance rates, I choose to go with Indian Oversees Bank.

For timebeing, opened HNI account with 50k IP and MAB. Offers free rupay select debit card and renewal.
Might downgrade it to lower balance account when I need this money.

Account opening was a breeze, via their TAB & IP was done via phonepe bank transfer.

Waiting for delivery of DC and cheque book.
whats TAB and IP ? Also dint understand "done via phonepe bank transfer".
Did you check with cust care why rupay offers are not working ? because whats the point of LTF when it doesn't work.

TAB- Tablet of the branch staff
IP- Initial Payment (initial funding) which was probably transferred to newly created account from Phonepe

Its not like Select offers are not working.. DC itself is not working.
DC is delivered with ECOM turned off and 0 limit. After delivery, I activated card & enabled it.
Still trascaction is declined by the bank, Customer care said it takes 24 hours to take effect, not working even after that.

So just raised a complaint & waiting.

They have a tablet which integrated camera and finger print, which opens account via aadhaar instantly.
Initial funding for MAB is done via phonepe. They didnt place request for DC till I put in money.

ATM se kuch 100-200 withdraw kar lo and try after that

PNB vs IOB… which one to choose? Any advantages that one should consider other the distance of the branch since both branches are just less than 1 km away from my home..
You get better remittance rates in IOB, but PNB is also just behind it.
Not sure if this helps.

IOB customer care is easy to connect, better then HDFC and all. Just select language and one key press and you are connected with Agent immediately.

I can't comment about PNB as I never used it.

Guys few queries:
01. Is there a difference between Rupay Select Wellness and Rupay Select only ?
02. Why sometimes they say offers (Gym, Spa, Amazon prime etc) are once in a quarter and some (Technofino says this in his thread)say once in a year
03. What's special with Union bank, PNB and Jana ? Cant we raise a request with mainstream banks (HDFC, SBI) for Rupay Select debit card ?
04. Also i think difference between rupay credit card and debit card offer is that the debit card has 2 categories (i think OTT and one more) benefits extra.

1 rupay select and wellness is different ..

2 because it changes by rupay every year .mostly gym , uber and golf is per quarter
Ott ,spa ,helath checkup is once a year

3 nothing special u get it easily because need of special account.. count canara bank too
Those bank doesn't have rupay select ( sbi has but with 1 lakh mab account ) other hdfc, icici ,axis doesn't

4 no idea but rupay select benefits are same
