Here is my experience of opening Jana finance ( video kyc - variant account)

590 joining fees ,+ 590 annual fees in first year
Yes account variant name is - video kyc ( don't open other account type like sa+fd or digi account)

STEPS :-
1 - OPEN JANA FINANCE BANK WEBSITE WEBSITE LINK
2 - TOP LEFT MENU
NOW SELECT -
INDIVIDUAL
SAVINGS accounts
video kyc (4th In list ) 2500 mab or 25k fd
Start now

3 - FILL YOUR DETAILS
IMPORTANT INFO HERE WHILE FILLING FORM
IF you address doesn't have Jana finance bank branch your application won't go through.
What's the remedy - CHECK BRANCHES FROM here. :- BRANCH LOCATOR

Give new address as communication address ( no verification doc asked as u know ) but maybe during kyc u might have hiccups if you aren't calling from current address)

Solution is use - only for TF ace and above dm me


Now coming to Vkyc experience:-
( If u don't get agent keep trying u will get or schedule even then u might not find agent then just keep trying eventually u will get within a hour of try )

- they will ask you
Name
DoB
Father's name
Email id
Complete address ( communication) with pincode
Tell u read code from screen
Picture & Signature

They might ask where u calling from

After this - they will inform you to fund 2500 or fund 25k & get rupay platinum dc for free FY.
But Tell them u are interested in Rupay select Dc & will get it by calling customer care.
They will agree .
Then they will inform about intrest rate fd rd . which you listen & nod .


AFTER KYC :- ONE HOUR INTO KYC I GOT CRN number
Logged into app with CRN number.
Called customer care ( it's straight forward call like idfc ivr directly connected to agent )
They will verify your details like name ,dob ,mother name , email
And tell them u want Rupay select dc .they will say 590 + gst agree and u will recieve a sms for request number.
While on call

You will get dc + dc pin ( 2 parcel via courier)
+ Maybe a welcome kit too

In same evening got call for applying dc & cheque.
Since I had cheque book.
I applied for just cheque book (25p ) free.
For passbook - was told to contact bank

Still I think PNB Rupay Credit Card is better option because it comes with all wellness benefits. You pay Rs 500.00 and then LTF provied you make a transaction at least once in a quarter.

You can apply online but you have to upload salary slips of last two months and latest ITR acknowledgement.

In VKYC you will be asked too many questions, basically whatever you filled in the application. Instead of ITR I uploaded Form 16. I received a message saying my application is lying descripant and to contact customer care or nearest bank. Talked to customer care. I was told to send ITR acknowledgement by mail. I did so. I received confirmation that the document received. And in one week I received virtual card.

Pnb Genie app is good and user friendly.
So not possible for no salaried people
 
Offline...how many days it took to open account and initial funding and account variant details please ..??
I have submitted the documents today afternoon (by 4-4:30), the executive said within 24Hours the account will be activated. Initial funding is 5K via cheque. "Metro Saving Account" is the only account with lowest charges. There is Premium, Premium plus, exclusive variants which need 50K, 1.5L, 2L and 3L as MAB and the card issued for those types is free.
 
Ok thanks.. please do update if the dc issue is sorter. I am confused between union HNI and iob HNI… looking for a LTF Rupay select with good benefits!!
Issue is sorted..

Things got screwed up when I set pin after card activation. Pin settings failed & due to which, DC declined everything.

Based on BM's suggestion, I tried the card in IOB ATM and it said incorrect PIN. I reset the pin and everything worked.

I redeemed prime membership, took 2-3 hours to receive coupon code.

So all good 🙂 experience was smooth. Just got little unlucky with DC but nothing major.

So IOB bank staff were knowledgeable and helpful inspite of being a PSU

I went and asked I need to open account which gives me select debit card (I already did homework, so I know I can open HNI to get LTF select debit card with 50k QAB). But the lady over there said I need to maintain 5L minimum balance, I was like WTF. I said HNI account with 50k QAB, she said it got revised recently, website is not upto date... clearly tried to cheat with false info.

I asked her to write the same on a paper and put a seal & sign of hers. Then I spoke with BM, who said no one here opens such high end accounts... Most of the people just open 2k MAB accounts, and hence their staff is not knowledge able.

She showed me IOB offerings in her phone, I choose HNI and she said something to the same lady, account opened in a breeze !

I got BM contact from customer care, she was supportive & helpful.

It was weird experience... I went to one desk which was empty... asked her about account opening.
Had zero idea that she is BM, was working with anyone else.... nothing special about her desk or anything of such sort lol.

Only later when I wanted to escalate, I realized that I originally spoke with BM only.
