Jio Recharge plan Hike

JIO 5G GIFT VOUCHER Rs 601 FOR ONE YEAR
I came across this unlimited 5G voucher for Rs 601 valid for 1 year: https://www.jio.com/gift/true-5g
T&C: https://www.jio.com/jcms/en-in/jio-true-5g-gift-voucher-offer-terms-and-conditions/

If this is the case, then can we recharge value pack Rs 1899 for 336 days, and then do this 601 on top of that for 5G?
So that total cost will be only 2500. Has anyone tried this?
If this works, it becomes the most affordable unlimited plan!!

Afaik it's clearly written valid only for 1.5GB/day plans.

"For activating the 5G Upgrade Voucher Select MyJio “Voucher” tab and redeem voucher on monthly mobility active plans of 1.5 per day entitlement."
https://www.jio.com/jcms/en-in/jio-...ility active plans of 1.5 per day entitlement.

Recharge for the cheapest 1.5GB per day plan and then do 601. Is that viable? I will check and tell also. I am outside now.

Have you opened the TnC page?

This 601 recharge will provide 12xRs.51 UL 5G vouchers and the receiver of gift or the person recharging it can redeem only if it has a 28 days active plan of 1.5GB/day. This won't be applicable to yearly recharges but only 1.5GB plans and that too not 70/84 days validity ones but max. 28 days. So recharging 1899 + 601 won't give you anything but loss of 2500. Telcos think customers are fool and mind you some people really are as they never read full conditions and applicability of recharge.

This is not a new recharge as already Jio has Rs.51 UL 5G Upgrade pack which shows only when you are active on 1.5GB 28 days plan like 239/299. 51x12= 612 and this is 601 to fool people by givig 12x 28 days Rs.51 vouchers.

In one line, "This is a crap plan meant only to fool people"

I didn't check it. I am thinking to recharge with 3599 only using rewardz balance or 899 (-100) using Amazon Friday in next month for better peace of mind.
I can't play with jio. They are very clever. I might shift one number to other telco if I get better coverage.

Yeah 799x4 will cost you 3196 (5 days less than 365 days plan) which is better than going for 3599 with say 5-6% discount. If you can get 3599 at 10% that would be okay too but Airtel Axis card has 250 max. Jio don't give full TT in any topup else say like 500 used to provide full tt then with Amazon you can save 700 for 7 months and then use that balance to activate yearly plan.

Why didn't you recharged advance or bought vouchers? The 2GB plan with 365 days was at 2399 only and with upto 10% discount those days. Beofre this hike it was 2899 also for 2GB and then 2999 also for say 2.5 years.

This seems most doable now. 799*4. Simple and straightforward.
Otherwise 3599 on a Friday with Rupay platinum 100 discount = 3499.

Currently I feel 899*4 (90*4=360 days) with rupay offer (799*4) is the most cost effective.

Thanks.
Mistake ho gaya.
Earlier I had only one jio number later ported other one, then another one. Upar se jio voucher aur number blocking ne confused kar diya tha.
I didn't anticipated the prices will be hiked so fast so much.

Telecom regulator Trai on Monday amended tariff rules to mandate mobile service providers to issue a separate plan for voice calls and SMS for customers not using data.
Cheaper, non-data plans might be available soon

Much needed. Old people mostly not use data. Many of them use feature phone. TRAI should have done this before.
Poor people suffering the most.

I hope we get yearly plans for these, might be on these with separate paid data plans whenever I need it
Exactly what many people need. It could significantly reduce costs for someone like me who has wifi everywhere and just need a basic recharge to get by. But telco companies are too smart to give the consumers what they need without some kind of mandatory minimum spending

Upar se jio ne 1 /1.5 / 2.0 GB ka annual plan hi discontinue kar diya. As if everyone is watching YouTube or cricket fan.

Jio has given many things and cost savings over years but at same time I blame them for removing PayGO plan and are real killer of validity voice and sms plans. Even after having enough, I sometime find it hard to pay Rs.200 so as to have OG SMS on bank registered number. Can't keep my real number with bank so that one is never used anywhere.

P.S: Thinking of porting it to Jio from Airtel (Bank registered number) so that Jio voucher I have can be used on it ocassionally, Having 155 vouchers also with 28 days and 300 SMS. Hope they introduce standalone SMS and voice packs so that I don't need to port. Only price will tell.

These days its better to go for Jio postpaid & add family members to that plan. First number in such a plan costs Rs 450, each subsequent number costs Rs 150 each. We have 3 members in our plan, data allowance is 85 GB per month, which we are never able to use. Data allowance can also be rolled over. We pay Rs 884 per month which is around Rs 3540 per number per year with no hassle of daily data limits. I will add another family member to this plan next month to bring down the average even further.
