Just For Fun 🐰

We can't tell . Better way is to window shop the similar designs and check their making charges etc.

In terms of making charges and designs, Tanishq is the worst. We never liked their designs and their charges are really high.
I did some research-
Tanishq’s gold price is a bit higher than others but has reduced VA considerably in the last few months because of the soaring gold prices.
Kalyan’s VA is high as always!
Never bought any jewellery from Joyalukkas from India (bought from Dubai) so can’t comment.
Malabar is more balanced in terms of price and VA!
There are other jewellery brands in South India which are absolutely fantastic in pricing, designs and VA but not available in the eastern part of the country.

what is va here?
Value addition

In the context of buying gold jewelry,
VA stands for "Value Addition". It is a term used by jewelers to represent the combined cost of making charges and wastage.

Here is a breakdown of what VA includes:

  • Making charges: The labor cost for the craftsmanship and artistry involved in creating the jewelry. The more intricate and complex the design, the higher this charge will be.
  • Wastage: The amount of gold that is lost during the crafting process, through melting, cutting, and shaping the metal. Though modern machines minimize loss, jewelers still charge a percentage to cover this traditional cost
