Kotak 811 Digital Account Debit Freeze

I deposited around INR 1.5l in my wife's Kotak 811 account. Today, we discovered that they randomly froze her account. As per the email communication, she has to visit her home branch to unfreeze the account. The problem is we are not in India currently and we won't be there in the foreseeable future. What are my options?
 
Why I am suddenly seeing so much cases of account freezing
These complaints are either due to high volume transactions or number of transactions. If someone does daily 15-20 transactions from his savings account then bank algo will trigger that account. Bank also doesn't want their customers to do savings account transactions like current account transactions. They can't outright deny services to such customers but they can surely put restrictions like this.

I know the reasons behind acc freeze buddy😉

I was just asking why(means I was just shocked) suddenly account freeze cases are coming up more frequently on TF. In last week I have read around 10 cases
 
My account is also frozen day before yesterday for TXN PATTERN MISMATCH VIS-A-VIS DECLARED PROFILE.



Yesterday i went to branch they asked my pan card aadhar card and letter regarding the transaction after submitting they said they will do address verification and i should be present during verification.



The transaction are UPI transfer offers from Bajaj for coins daily 3000rs+ 15-20 times a day between 2 of my own savings account SBI and kotak because so many transactions daily it got frozen



Today I got call from bank branch today they told me to come to branch and they asked me 6 months other bank statement then after I got statement now they are asking me to close account and move Balance to another bank but I said no they are threatening me saying I will recieve legal notice and he is reporting me to rbi and income tax department I said go on i am going to escalate this complaint.



Guys please advise what should I do my dad is angry on me he is saying that I don't know rules bank manager should know rules that's why he said that and i should go and apologize to him and close account i never did anything wrong a little threat from bank manager my dad is scared telling me to apologise any idea guys someone tell me should i do?

If i knew that i would get so many problems i would have never done UPI transfer offers i thought that transfer between savings account with same pan card don't get freeze problems because it's your own money you are transferring

By the way I complained on Twitter when I got out of bank now I want to take back the complaint on Twitter because dad said don't make matter big i am having so much tension now he doesn't know about my Twitter escalation I did it when i stepped out of Branch now what should I do I am feeling stressed and feeling like I will faint

transactions of only non-business / non-commercial nature
. In the
event of occurrence of such transactions or any such transactions
that may be construed as commercial /business/dubious or
undesirable
, the Bank reserves the right to unilaterally freeze
operations in such accounts and/or close the account".

Just close your A/c and transfer your funds to another A/c.

No need to ask Sorry to Branch Manager, it's not Illegal. Tell them you're unaware that these trxns will become dubious from your bank side and then will lead my account to get freezed on this ground only, if so why my other bank account is still running smoothly.

Hence, I myself too I don't want to continue the banking relationship here, where customers are threatened and misbehaved, so request you to proceed on closing account.

If they act oversmart, tell you're having recording of the conversation, where you have threatened me to ask sorry to BM. Otherwise, you will report to RBI or Income Tax Department.

Nowadays banks are just freezing the Customers Account without any intimation. How would a customer knows what are the restrictions, although he is utilizing his account to the most. And there is also a guidlines to unfreeze the account after home verification and transactions verification. But Banks official bother to visit home as they are having the most busiest Job in the world.

I will recommend if all the transactions are genuine and the amount lying in your account is quite low or you are no need of it for a little bit time raise the complained against Branch Manager about not unfreezing my account to RBI Ombudsman then only there will be some upcoming changes in the system against this freezing game.

I agree with your points
From last one -two months there is a sudden spike in cases of accounts freeze
Even mine SBI account was freezed
It seems that as system has become automated so they are targeting strings of continuous transactions between one account and another
Like person A send money to from his one account to another repeatedly that too in short period of time
And it raise a flag in their system

In my case they SBI manager told me that there were 20-25 imps transaction crediting on daily basis plus numerous UPI between same accounts of same amounts and it raised a flag on your account



The thing is manager can easily unfreeze account through their system by their side but it depends on manager to manager

In my case sbi manager was young and supportive and lifted the hold upon receipt of application cum kyc docs
 
Anyone got their money from kotak debit freezed account without unfreezing it.
Because bank saying it can take upto 1 month. Any suggestions guys?
i recently deposited 5k into my 811 kotak account and after few days i was sending it to someone but txn got failed so i did it with icici, after some time i tried again it got failed, i tried from their app and it says your upi is blocked, contact customer care. I withdrew 5k via imps and haven't used kotak again. such a cheap bank. will never use it. they freezes account just for receiving 5k via upi and that was first ever transaction on the account. disgusting bank.
 
I had the same issue, branch visit solved it. Gave the statements as proof of funds, and debit freeze was removed. Please update the salary you earn in your Kotak Profile, else it'll cause this issue even if there's just 1L/1.5L transaction.
Freeze was on 31st, went to branch on 2nd Nov, it got removed just now on 3rd Nov.
Please let me know which statement you sent ?
 
Yes My issue has been resolved but after a lot of harrasment by the kotak bank ajmer vaishali nagar branch employees,

They tortured to the hell of it until one day i call to nodal officer explaining the situation and immediately after a day or two a letter comes from the branch which if you see you can also make it by microsoft word

In that letter they mentioned few things that i have used my account for business transactions and i have been given warning to not to use it for business purpose

For that again i asked them to flag me the transaction which was done for business and again they were unanswerable.

Then within 5 days debit freeze was removed
And called customer care to activate upi debit card and net banking.
And problem solved

When all this was happening i was really sure of writing a detailed complained about the branch persons to kotak senior management and tweet it also.

But due to time constraints i am unable to do so
Because i need to sit and write it in a language that make them shit in their pants.

Thats all. Any more help i can give please reply back.
Do i need to contact branch again after receiving the letter casue i have received the letter but my account is still freezed
