Yes, I am 100% sure that the govt will separate RuPay from NPCI in the next few decades and turn into a for profit company.

In fact, 2 years ago RBI had also said, if NPCI wants to become a for profit company then RBI has no problem.

The CEO of NPCI also said in a podcast that once NPCI becomes a for-profit company, all banks will listen to NPCI.

Old civilizations are very resilient. Nothing will happen to China. Considering the strict & strong leadership, they'll bounce back.

It's the other way around in most part of the world & most of known history.

From Rockefeller, rorschach , de medici, east India companies, west india companies to caliphate, church etc. Govts /rulers most of the time have been under control of money & influence.

Usa (or any other democracy )never cared about democracy. They only cared about influence & power.
There was a time when millions of people were tortured because they spoke a language which wasn't acceptable according to state religion; even though they were majority they had no say in "govt". So their neighbor, world's biggest democracy supported their freedom struggle. In that time usa chose that genocidal theocracy run by military over world's biggest democracy. ( but why the same neighbor didn't help the minority when they were tortured by majority, we shall never know.)

I think pledging of promoter's shareholding to banks for loans should be discontinued...
Tomorrow if the company goes bust and share value plunges then common people's money is gone...
Rather fixed assets or something liquid should be the collateral for loans...

Issuing loans against business interest/asset shouldn't be banned. But sure there should be proper valuation mechanisms, which is missing today. Most important part making official responsible for their action.

There was a time, every single week, there used to be so many articles on the great job by the likes of Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chanda Kochhar, Rana Kapoor. They took so much bonus for this great job(corruption). At least chanda Kochhar & Rana Kapoor were harassed little bit( still not been punished thanks to our great judiciary), Arundhati Bhattacharya was never even targeted.

If we ban it completely, it can hamper productivity of economy & entrepreneurial spirit. But giving loan to get tax break & fund personal life style should be banned.
