LTF premium cards

I think If you spend on Sapphiro more than 1L per month for 6 months, then Emeralde LTF will appear on the imobile app. I am trying for that now.
Salary is not 2.5L+ so I cannot push through that route.

Isn't it better to spend on 'Other bank credit' cards than Sapphiro?

I meant 1L per month for 6 months will give you 0.5% = ₹ 3,000

but if same spent on YES Reserv w/ 3x subscription will give you 2.25% - 6% = upto ₹ 36,000

Emeralde PVC Fee: ₹ 14,160

with difference amount in reward points, you're effectively can get paid Emeralde card for 2.5 years with only 6-month expenses. If its 1 year, then its 5 years fee. And I hope many changes might come by that time and you no longer need this card.

I suppose, there's an opportunity cost here, but also no guarantee of getting Emeralde PVC LTF even after spending that much

And "I hope many changes might come by that time and you no longer need this card" ,
are you hoping the card will be devalued further, do have anything against Emeralde PVC LTF holders ?!😂🤣

Defenitely. ICICI is very poor in terms of rewards and points. Most of their cards are worthless.
I was not thinking about other banks like Yes, RBL, AU, and others mostly because I don't have a banking relationship with these banks.
For me I think it is convenient to have the banking relation and card with the same bank.
Looks like it is time to move from ICICI to a better bank where relationship is valued in both ways.

Trust me once you goto other banks like HDFC, IndusInd or IDFC you will realize how much better ICICI is in terms of net/Mobile banking, less spam by RM for investments (0 calls by RM so far in last 5 years) , service is also much better with ICICI.

I have a cibil score of 790 and have an income of 52LPA. I don't have any loans except four credit cards.

I want to understand how to get any premium cards like regalia gold, marquee, burgundy, infinia cards as LTF?

I am being offered FYF for regalia gold but nothing else.
You can get ICICI Saphhiro LTF.

Yes, same conveyed with numbers. If you spend same amount in other bank cards, and still needed this "particular variant card", you can get as paid (which is easy to obtain compared to LTF without any spending or investment) and fee can be paid using other bank cards rewards, effectively you're not losing anything by satisfying two requirements:

- LTF Emeralde PVC (by paying other banks rewards)
- 0.5% reward rate on Emeralde (still can get as left over in other bank rewards)

And "I hope many changes might come by that time and you no longer need this card" ,

I'm hoping every card will devalue after 3 years (or atleast make changes that makes them less useful) and observed same pattern in all banks. LTF is a myth according to me because eventually every bank introduces new cards making old ones useless or less useful (except very rare 2 or 3 cards).

Reserv LTF no longer useful unless you subscribe by "paying" 3x or 5x subscription to make it useful (or) upgrade to Marquee as Paid.

-- who knows after 3 years, some other cards come above Marquee making it like Reserv now.

DCB -> DCB Metal
Reserv -> Marque
Regalia -> Regalia Gold
Zenith -> Zenith+
Magnus -> Magnus 4B

and so on..

we're in business which can sustain only on profits. eventually for better benefits we have to upgrade or take low rewards.

Do not think we can survive with that card forever.

In multiple posts, I mentioned
- do not waste time to get basic / premium cards as LTF (because you won't use them, or they reduce your favorite features)
- try to get only useful that you hope to survive next 3 years as LTF

// In fact, by this 2nd point logic emeralde pvc sustain but it's no use currently itself.

Anycase, your income changes in 3 years, your lifestyle may change in 3 years, you may need better cards by that time.

Note: Views are personal, and one has to know where they're using particular card and how useful to them. What may not work for me, may work for you.

Only through branch, contact them and find right person (sometimes they're on different branch than visited one).. u can get LTF premium cards.

Ex: U want Infinia, go to nearby hdfc branch, find BM, request your card as LTF, they'll ask something in favor, do it and get the card LTF. If they don't have knowledge or capability, change branch do same again.
This.
Don't expect every branch employee or even manager to treat you well. They literally don't care much.
But, that being said, there are still a lot of Bank Employees, who are passionate about being Bankers and would love to do their job at the best of their capabilities. If you find one of them, you will probably get the cards you want as LTF - because you have a pretty good Credit Score and also you are a high net worth individual. You have some good leverage.

Agree to everything,

Btw i took no offence to your previous comment, i just found it amusing, it kinda like hoping against hope you know (most people hope their precious Premium's, Super Premium's & LTFs will retain value over time)

But you're right, banks revolve their products,
They'll launch something new, hype it up,
People will run after it, most will try to get LTF by any means necessary,
Once enough people have it, banks will devalue it to oblivion,
Then people again start looking for what's new ahd hot,
And the cycle continues...

Been in this space for a decade now I've seen it all, over and over again.

Agree on all points of the above posts. I'm a newbie in terms of credit card world, just using some cards in last 3 years. Even in this short time, I could see my priorities have changed a lot over the years.

As you grow up in finance, life and income, your spending patterns and lifestyle changes a lot. Same with the preference for cards as well.

Premium /luxury credit cards focussed on air travel and hotel stays may not have much to offer in the day to day expenses. But once you taste any of the benefits of a good premium card, you basically stick to it for most of your spends. At the end of the day, these things are designed to reduce the complexities in life and not make us overthink and complicate.

Also, once a card is devalued and doesn't make sense, it's time to move on to the next best available option or upgrade to the better version.
