Yes i feel that now as well, but that was the only option of linking to oneworld flights
Better buy the air tickets on traveledge portal using Magnus card to get 60 points per 200.

Among airlines, Singapore and United miles are the best value.
Singapore Airlines has a very low tax component when you use their miles.
United has a lower mile requirement for very long distance flights

Thing is, its done so dont want to regret anything, will try to use where i can get max value

JAL is best for flights.

You can book international tickets using Qatar , BA , Qantas and Vistara and points requirements are lower than carrier.

E.g. Delhi-Frankfurt RT via Vistara would cost 60 CV points but only 45k JAL points in economy class
Yes, JAL mile requirement is very low.
(And Vistara miles requirement is very high, higher than Singapore Airlines)
Problem is the taxes of JAL are very high compared to Singapore Airlines.

Also they don't fly to Mumbai.
So people in Mumbai will have to fly to Bangalore or Delhi to catch the JAL flight, it will be more troublesome

Best is not decided solely on no of points needed. Factors- Taxes, availability, Flexibility(Cancellation on award tickets), points expiry, ease of usage(Should be bookable online), Customer service in case of issues. It is combination of all these factors. And when we combine these, United & Singapore stand out above all.

Absolutely correct and Vistara availability is very low for award flights.
They have only two economy seats, that too only on selected flights.
I am not sure about JAL available award seats.
Singapore has got excellent customer service and its one of the best airlines in the world.
They have received the best airline in the world award many times.

Yes Singapore and United give the best value. However it is not that simple either. Just like credit cards are to be used to primarily get extended repayment credit on purchases with the rewards being an additional benefit, airline points are to be used to supplement your payment for tickets. Just redeeming points for airlines or hotels you don't have a use for but only because they give "value" is manufacturing those spends.

For instance I have no need flying eastwards from India to take SQ and I am not going to manufacture a reason to go to Singapore to use that value. No way I am going to take a series of SQ flights from India to Europe.

Also, not everyone lives in Mumbai or Delhi. United and Turkish are hence off the table. I am not going to spend an additional whatever it is flying to Mumbai and then dealing with the hassle of baggage retrieval, re-check in etc. to use the value. All this would be akin to manufacturing spends.

I travel to Europe or UK and from where I am, the only sensible options are EK or QR. Ultimately you are paying for the ticket and it is nice to use the points to get some value back. Also the good part about Avios is that the taxes might be high, but so is availability of seats.

Guys, I am getting 20:1 ratio on axis magnus now. Be it Accor or anything else, I called Axis they said it maybe because their app is reflecting the conversion ratio of my other card (Vistara Infinite). Anyone else on the same boat?
So Axis has become very smart now.
they are using the lowest value card in your portfolio of 3 cards to decide the conversion ratio.

If I were you I would close the Vistara infinite card.
Vistara has very limited award seats for club vistara points/miles, which you will get by using this card.

There only 2 economy award seats, 2 Premium economy award seats and 2 business class award seats per flight, that too not on all flights.

Posters complain that they cannot get award seats on the flight of their choice, which defeats the purpose of having any Vistara card, whether Axis Vistara or SBI.

Same here. I only hold Magnus and got atlas 2-3 days back. I don’t know what the fck is their criteria.

I was just about to apply for an Axis Vistara Infinite. After reading about the difficulties in getting any voucher ticket booking I'm rethinking if it is worth it to spend 10000+GST on a card whose vouchers may not get used practically.
